I know Warn does not "rate" the bumper for flat towing. I believe many manufactures don't want to go through the expense of certification or possible liability issues for a small market potential. I am confident that my d-ring mounts have been jerked on much harder getting me out of, over, or off of obstacles than they will encounter towing my Jeep.Re: Jeep Grand Cherokee Redwoodcamper wrote: I would try to find one with the new eco diesel! The weight ratings look good either way. Tow away! Plus one with the ecodiesel - I have one & it's a great vehicle. Comfortable, tows great, economical, etc. I have an Overland with quadra-lift & the combination of WDH makes towing grat.Re: Aluminum car trailer vs. 4-DownWe've done both & prefer 4 down for our Rubicon.Re: I-pass mountBefore we picked up a class C in Indiana this month I had called I-Pass & after a few tries got to a knowledgeable person. Spent some time at the factory to get some things taken care of but overall very pleased. Drives fantastic & looking forward to getting out in it more as time & weather permits.Re: IS MY JEEP SAFE TO TOW A CAMPER????I had a '14 GC Limited 4x4 with 3.6 & tried towing an open car trailer (about 5500 lbs) with weight distribution. It was not adequate to me. Traded to '15 GC Overland 4x4 with the 3.0 diesel & it handles the 5500 lb car trailer weight fantastic. Not sure how it would handle a travel trailer with all the potential sway issues.
