A couple of little hick-ups and I chose to hold the butterfly 1/4 open for an extended time, as in 5+ minutes as it continued to run fairly smoothly. Took CARB CLEANER and sprayed it in until almost dying, stopped and let it get back to idle. A few more sprayings and let it run until nice a warm then flipped the 2 breakers and 50AMP SERVICE resulted. Another 10 minute idle then both roof air conditioners PLUS water heater PLUS fridge with 30amps showing and RUN IT DID!!! THANKS AGAIN and another check-out tomorrow hopefully will turn out OK.Re: 5500 Onan starts then dies, help pleaseGenerator starts better than before then only runs for 4 minutes and dies. Checked pump with hose disconnected and pressure seems good so totally flustered and figure it's time for $$$$ and a pro.Re: 5500 Onan starts then dies, help pleaseBroke down the carb today and the inside looked as clean as the day it was assembled. Didn't have any cleaner so put Seafoam through everything then reassembled and WHAM-BAM it ran but only for 5 minutes. Same as before r.e.-shutting down, so held butterfly and it ran great. THANKS for the replies.Re: 5500 Onan starts then dies, help please dougrainer wrote: The seafoam did not work. You need to remove the carb fuel bowl and unscrew the needle jet assbly and clean out the 16 holes with regular carb spray. The carb is varnished/gummed up. Doug Thanks :) Will put your suggestion on today's "must do" list.5500 Onan starts then dies, help please2008 Onan 5500 that I neglected and did not run every month with load since May. Using start switch on the generator, first priming then start the gen. It starts and runs ONLY as long as I hold almost completely closed the butterfly under air filter. If I take pressure off the B-fly opens wide and sounds like gulping air then shuts down with code flashing 36. Reset code, prime and start up and again runs only by holding closed the butterfly. Sprayed plenty of Seafoam in to no avail. Any ideas of problem??? TIARe: Requesting solution from knowledgeable RV.NET collectiveAgain, thanks for all replies. Group 29DC at Walmart for $100.00 each with 2 YEAR FREE REPLACEMENT and a pair in parallel will fit. p.s. -- not too concerned about being WET since if I roll the MH pretty sure other issue will arise.Re: Requesting solution from knowledgeable RV.NET collectiveThanks all. opnspaces wrote: RV-1/2n-FUN wrote: Need to replace 2yo T-105s due to my neglect and wondering if 2-12V 24DC in parallel are a wiser less expensive choice since not using MH dry- camping? https://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart-Lead-Acid-Marine-RV-Battery-Group-24DC/180350522 TIA for expert opinions as always If as you say you are not using the MH for dry camping. And if we can assume you are always going to be plugged in to shore power. Then buy the cheapest battery you can. The two 12 volt batteries will work fine for you. Your current T-105's are wired in series to give you 12 volts. If you replace with 12 volt batteries then make sure they are wired in parallel so you still only have 12 volts. Yup, the T's are in series as we all know so the 12's have to be parallel and just figure that in the 10 years we have had the MH we have never Dry Camped and due to my prostate cancer are using it even less.Requesting solution from knowledgeable RV.NET collectiveNeed to replace 2yo T-105s due to my neglect and wondering if 2-12V 24DC in parallel are a wiser less expensive choice since not using MH dry- camping? https://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart-Lead-Acid-Marine-RV-Battery-Group-24DC/180350522 TIA for expert opinions as alwaysRe: Refrigerator Fan JimK-NY wrote: Years ago I had a small refrigerator fan that ran off of 2 D cell batteries. I really could not see that it did much and was not worth the cost of frequently replacing the batteries. philh wrote: I bought one at a much lower price. It appeared to work, but I am going to wire in a computer fan to the light switch as suggested above. Just got in via Amazon 2 computer fans, taped them together, ran 12V from a 12V socket and they did a great job keeping temps down compared to before.Re: $100 per night Lantley wrote: I enjoy Fort Wilderness, I pay a more than $100.00 to stay there, Yes it is on the expensive side, but at the end of the day I feel I get my monies worth. THe idea that there is a $100.00 limit or barrier for CG rates is out of touch with real world CG rates in tourist areas. Made 4 reservations yesterday for FW, $120.00 to $189.00/night. BOSS Lady gave me the dates and said make the call. She wants to go, I drive the MH, she pays the bills.
