I'm guessing you haven't had any trouble with them breaking or sliding on you huh? I've read reviews where people have had trouble with them breaking after a couple of uses and also with them sliding. Do you use them with a dual axle TT?Re: Dual Axle Leveling helpIf it matters, my first camping experience with this travel trailer will be a music festival and the "campground" is simply a pretty uneven field. No concrete, asphalt, or regular parking or camping spots. Do the Lynx blocks work just out in a field? How many blocks would I probably need to go under both tires? I know it would just be a guess since the terrain is unknown right now.Dual Axle Leveling helpI've got a 1998 Dutchmen Aristocrat travel tailer with dual axles. I've done a lot of research and searching but am still undecided on what to make or buy to allow me to level it. I'm just nervous about what I can fit in between the two tires. I've considered the Anderson 3604 Levelers but have read a number of reviews about them breaking and also sliding. Plus, they are rather expensive. I've considered cutting some 2x6's but again, I'm concerned about not having much room between the tires. I've also considered the BAL 28050 tire leveler but it says it's made only for single axles and it's also pretty expensive. I need suggestions on what I should do. Thanks.Re: Deciding on generatorI wouldn't mind at all camping next to Dakota. He seems to be nice and willing to help as are most on this forum. My rant was directed not just at anybody who suggested I buy an inverter style generator but strictly at those few who jumped to the conclusion that I don't care, am only concerned with price and haven't even considered or researched the noise levels. I am a nice person and do care and I understand that inverter style generators are the way to go IF you can afford it. I can't and the place I'm camping doesn't require it and last year I saw a lot of people there using non inverter style generators... Nobody cared and they weren't really that loud to me. Even the champion 3100 is still $700 or more... I can't pay that much, I'm sorry. It sounds like a couple of people just automatically label me a jerk cause I'm not buying an inverter style without knowing my situation. That's what frustrated me. Most everybody's suggestions were very helpful and I really appreciate them even the ones who suggested an inverter style.Re: Deciding on generatorThanks for all the suggestions. I'm not trying to be rude but I can't afford a generator as quiet as some of you are demanding. I'm sorry that I'm not rich enough to camp next to you. For the trip I'm going on, it's a music festival and not a campground so that's why I'm not too concerned about the noise. Most other people there use the same type of generators that I'm looking at and nobody cares. If I'm the most hated person in the campground cause I can't afford a super expensive quiet generator then it's probably not a campground I would want to camp at. I'm really not trying to be a jerk. I just don't like getting repeatedly jumped on cause I can't afford the top of the line equipment. I think people should be a little more forgiving and stop hating people cause their generator is a little louder cause they couldn't afford the expensive ones. What's next... Is my camper too old or is the paint too faded to park next to you? It's fine to be considerate of others and I try to to the best of my ability, but spending 3 times as much just so I don't upset you with a little more noise seems ridiculous. I'm researching and buying the best deal and quietest one I can afford. That's the best I can do. I'm sorry.Re: Deciding on generatorOk, I think I decided to pass on the Generac. It's probably a good deal but after buying the adapter, it's not much less than the brand new Champion 3500/4000. The Generac did have the wheel kit on it whereas the Champion does not (it can be added but for $45 more). I figure I can rig up some wheels on it though for cheap or sit it on a cart.Re: Deciding on generatorI just found a used Generac 5000w/6250w surge generator with 10hp motor for $250. It has two 20a 120v outlets, one twist lock 120/240v with 20a breaker, and one twist lock 120v with 30a breaker. Do you think that's a good one? I'd need to get the adapter to go from my 30a TT plug to the 30a twist lock plug but that should work fine shouldn't it?Re: Deciding on generatorI wish I could afford a Honda or Yamaha model. I can't. I'll apologize for the noise and definitely won't run it at night when people are sleeping. I'd rather have a noisy one than no power at all though. The Champion 4000 is only 68 decibels so that's not too bad. So now just to find the cheapest price when considering shipping and tax.Re: Deciding on generatorThe Champion 4000 does look pretty good and I like that it has the RV plug already on it. Thanks for the suggestion.Re: Deciding on generatorYes, this is the Predator 3200/4000 from Harbor Freight that I'm looking at. I really can't spend any more money than the Harbor Freight one which is about $300. So I'm stuck with something in that price range. I'm sure that will be better than no generator at all. I'll check out the Champion 4000 and see how much that one is. I did learn that I can get an adapter to connect the twist lock 120/240v outlet to a 30a travel trailer cord so that's good.
