We won't travel the i5, if we can possibly avoid it. I've driven it in a car and find the idea of doing it in a 40' Class A with toad isn't the most appealing. The i90/i84/i15 and on looks the best for us so that's our tentative route, depending on weather as the time approaches. Thanks for all your help, it's much appreciated.Seattle, WA to San Antonio, TX in April - route suggestions?Hi all, We're wintering in the Pacific Northwest and will be here (work) until the beginning of April. We've just had word that we need to be in San Antonio, TX at the end of April. The two quickest routes I have looked at give a choice of going down the i84 through Salt Lake City then down i15, or across and down through Colorado and across state highways to our destination between San Antonio and Austin. What road/weather conditions can we expect as we head south? Washington and eastern Oregon should be headed into thaw by then but what about Colorado? Is going south from Salt Lake City a better bet with weather? Is there a better route we should consider? Will campgounds be open in April? Thanks for your help.Re: US 2 from Mi to Mn.We traveled that route, through to Everett WA, in October in a 40' class A. It's easy driving and has loads to see. The scenery is breathtaking, especially through the Cascades. It pays to top up the fuel anytime you get to around a half tank as there's long stretches where fuel stops are few and far between. Even with many of the campgrounds closed when we went through there was still enough open that we had no trouble getting spots. There's also a surprising number of free overnight camping places as well. Some of these had water and power available outside of the winter season. We spent three weeks crossing US2 and will be going back again. Let us know what kinds of things you want to see/experience.
