It is impossible to sign every possibility of misuse of the park. There is another thread running where someone's kids spraypainted trees and picnic tables. Is a sign needed for that as well? If you want to use the park facilities for anything other than what they were intended for, ASK. (And be willing to accept the answer) Yah I suppose at some point signage can be overdone. Common sense and manners should rule but, you know, there’s always one.... As an RV park owner you are certainly better equipped to answer this question. Have you had to deal with this yet? If so how did it go? Good to have a campground owner on here discussing it. Any plans for a couple level two stations? This could make it a bit more of a cash flow item...eventually. :). Not a lot out there yet but a couple thousand more every day.Re: How common are parks with "cheater" 50amp service? valhalla360 wrote: wa8yxm wrote: BUT I will argue with how it applies here. IF a Tesla plugs in at a vacant site. You can bet Management is charging for that site.. Else he' be quickly ask to leave.. That's Management's job (or part of it) because Management is also Entitled...to rent for the occupied site. So if the management doesn't catch you, it's their fault? In a lot of parks, the pedestals are tucked back not easily visible without going back to trace the cords that are plugged in and often two sites are fed from one pedestal. Expecting the campground staff to monitor each pedestal multiple times per day, is not reasonable. There will always be abusers or people who take advantage of a situation but overall I think most will follow the rules. I have talked to others driving EV’s and haven’t met anyone who didn’t do it without permission or paying an additional fee. Remember as well that although EV’s can theoretically pull up to 40 amps at 240 volts this is totally adjustable for most EV’s or via the EVSE that plugs into the stove plug. We can adjust right down to 8 amps at 120 volts with ours. Or about double what the fridge uses. If you are in a campground you are probably not in a hurry to charge so this might be adequate. If not a 30 minutes stop at a DC fast charger can always be done. Signage is important though. If the campground owner is uncomfortable with EV’s charging in his/campground then good signage is important. The campground knows the infrastructure of his campground and doesn’t need to invite problems associated with additional load. Depending on proximity to commercial charging facilities I doubt it would affect my decision to stay there.Re: How common are parks with "cheater" 50amp service?Moré and more campgrounds are adding themselves to plugshare. They usually charge either a flat fee based on the car or an hourly rate. We tow an EV on a trailer. We have charged a few times at campgrounds. Most have turned down our money but we always offer to pay. We have seen a few that have added a J1772 level 2 station but it’s kind of a waste as every EVer has their own EVSE with them. We always limit ours to 16 amp as there is no hurry. Probably a good way to generate a little cash on the side for the camp ground owner. There are a whole new family if single phase level 4 DC fast chargers available. Some utilities are using them in locations without easy three phase power available. Kinda slow but handy in some situations. The BC government and BC hydro is using them at rest stops on more remote sections of highway. We plan our lunch stop around one of them. It’s only 25 Kw but over a lunch break actually works pretty good. Campgrounds that have a restaurant of store or some other tourist attraction migh benefit from one of these. Price is a third of a normal 3 phase 100 KW DCFC. Meh, we do probably 95 percent of our charging in our driveway but it’s nice to see the charging infrastructure growing as fast as it is. We have about 4 pre-paid RFID cards that cover the four main networks. Kinda wish they had a single card to cover them all but it’s not a big deal. Anyway, a campground could add a card reader or two to a couple of 50 amp plugs. If the campground is on a major route it might be worth it.Re: "What If...?" I also want to thank you for your help. I would go with the SENSAR PRO about 100 dollars and you can install it yourself. IF you have the classic wall plate with the switch, it replaces same. if you have a box of many buttons as I do you need to make a change or 3.. but it is specifically DESIGNED for the job. Unlike all the others. Yah I just got a text back from a buddy who casts his vote for the sensar pro as well. I have no experience with it but he says it solved some issues for him. Happy trails and safe travels.Re: Still can not get any channels on my TV???? Big Redneck wrote: John do you know a good booster to buy? I also want to thank you for your help. Not off the top of my head but I’ll ask my parts guys to take a peak on Monday and I’ll send you their recommendations. You should be able to find whatever they recommend locally or on line.Re: Still can not get any channels on my TV????Sounds like you have it worked out Ken. I think that booster is a good idea.
