It's suppose to have a full walk on roof! after seeing these photo's I am a little concerned about being up there. We have had no problems with the roof yet! I wonder which location that this unit was built at? Does it shown it on the Trailer ID> It's no wonder WW (Weekend Warrior) went out of business - sad to think you spent lots of money for this trailer - only to have this happen - It's only 2 years old. Hope things work out and you are able to repair it correctly without spending thousands on it... CheersRe: WW RepairsWeekend Warrior closes two Perris factories, lays off about 250 07:19 PM PDT on Monday, July 28, 2008 By RODD CAYTON The Press-Enterprise Weekend Warrior Trailers Inc. is shutting two Perris factories and has laid off about 250 workers, owner Mark Warmoth said Monday. The company, like the entire recreational vehicle industry, has been battered by the declining economy and the slumping residential real estate market, he said. The absence of home price appreciation, which often yields equity that can be tapped for the RV purchase, has cost the industry about 40 percent of its peak business, Warmoth said. Another 10 percent or more has vanished as consumer confidence has waned, he said. Story continues below Stan Lim / The Press-Enterprise A drop in sales this year forced Weekend Warriors Trailers Inc. to close two factories in Perris on Monday, laying off about 250 workers. The company continues to operate factories it owns in Riverside and Perris; it leased the closing factories. . Weekend Warrior, Warmoth said, was ill-prepared for the market to fall off after a boom that lasted more than a decade. "I expected to be here for my customers forever," he said. He described his company as "still open, but in trouble." Owners will still be able to get replacement parts, which are sold by other companies, he said. It's been a rough year for Weekend Warrior -- three executives resigned in April, and the company let 100 people go in March. Warmoth said earlier that he was expecting the company's sales for 2008 to fall about 25 percent from last years' $155 million, which was itself a 25 percent drop from 2006 sales. Story continues below The poor economy has meant rough times for Weekend Warrior, which let 100 employees go earlier this year. The shrinking of Weekend Warrior is the latest hit to the local RV industry. In April, a small company, Ontario-based Alfa Leisure, closed down. In December, Perris-based National RV Holdings Inc. filed for bankruptcy protection and closed its manufacturing plant, eliminating 600 jobs. Andy Coyle, president at Canyon RV Center in Colton, said he's aware that manufacturers are having a rough time. Growth has been slowing for a couple of years, he said, but the sharp hike in fuel prices, combined with housing and credit woes, has dealt a blow to the industry. Dealers, he said, aren't in as bad a condition, because they can rely on service work and sales of used RVs to offset slowing new-RV sales. Coyle said the industry should regain its footing eventually, as RVing is still one of the least expensive ways to vacation. He said manufacturers who expanded too quickly during the boom may not have the cash to ride out the slowdown, but he thinks the market has reached a trough, and should rebound as housing does. "It's temporary, but if you don't have the money to survive temporarily, it doesn't matter," Coyle said. July sales at Canyon RV Center have been an improvement over June, but it might take two years before the industry sees sales back at their 2004 peak. In previous months, he said, sales have been "off quite a bit," declining to elaborate.Re: WW RepairsI read through the law suit paperwork - and it does mention the FS30 - We have a 2005 FS30 and have not seen any MAJOR problems with the FRAME at the tongue? Has anyone else had problems with the FS30'sRe: WW RepairsInteresting Response from Dealership: Giant RV - I called several Giant RV locations to inquire about purchasing a Weekend Warrior - I was told that had many to choose from and to come on down. I tried to get a price of a 26 and 28' unit - and I was given the MSRP - One was Mid 30's the other was 44. I asked about the Manufacturers warranty - NO PROBLEM I was told, best in the business. If I knew WW then I would not have to ask this I was told by the person on the phone. Upon that response - I informed the salesman what I had heard this morning from talking to someone at WW. He was unaware and was going to have someone call me back. So - I got a call from the sales manager who informed me that WW has closed to reorganize - and that they would be reopening in a few months. We I pushed him on this and what I had been told! he than said that their dealership would be offering warranty to cover the new tt'S with a $25 co-pay. That they would be dealing on the price - How can they sale a unit - and not tell the potential new buyer that WW is no more! and this be legal! Does not seem right!Re: WW RepairsUPDATE Weekend Warrior "Out of Busines" :h Just spoke to someone out at WW in Perris, California (951) 940-5556 . I did not get her name, however when I asked about bringing our trailer in for service on warranty! she informed me that the following are no longer in business! and that they to (front office) were closing the doors for good. > Service - Closed :E > Warranty - Closed :E > Parts - Closed :E > Repairs - Closed :E I guess this would make it official! or unofficial that Weekend Warrior is no longer in business! :SRe: WW RepairsHas anyone else heard or seen anything that would confirm that WW has in fact been closed by the sheriffs dept! and that the Perris, California facility is now closed?. I hope that the dealers carrying WW will be forced to tell potential NEW owners about WW being closed or out of business for now! and/or ordered by the courts to stop selling their units until things are resolved. :ERe: WW RepairsWOW! I knew this would probably happen! just did not think it would be until the end of the year. I hope that those dealers out there with current inventory of WW's cannot sell those units! I have been reading the postings of people who purchased units within the last month or so with no idea of WW being in trouble. I have not had any BIG issues or problems with mine so far since purchasing it new back in 2005. Looks like I'll be holding onto it until the wheels fall off! ha ha. It's sad that it got to this point! Overall WW puts out a nice looking Toy Hauler - it's to bad that could not get the workmanship and the quality control under control sooner. This would have no doubt saved them from the end results. :SRe: WW RepairsI am concerned that WW is still having problems with repairs and supporting/servicing the ones that have already been sold! There are many indications that they might be forced into Chapter 11 or 13 - due to the large number of units with problems. I have also read where folks who just purchased a BRAND NEW units - and trailered it home! upon arriving at home found many problems that occurred on the trip home! Knowing that WW cannot address ALL the issues - why is WW and dealers still promoting and selling their units knowing that they will not be repaired or fixed! and the more I read in the blogs - the more I start to believe that they will be filing for Chapter 11 or Chapter 13 this year. I have noticed some cracks in the tongue area (2005 - FS30) and have tried to get it in for inspection and possible service! I have been told the earliest I can get my rig in to be inspected will be the end of Nov! What am I suppose to do in the mean time??Re: WW RepairsNice - We all have spent hard earned monies to purchase a WW - and now they will be in BK - and we will incure the costs for any MAJOR repairs due to design or workmanship..Re: WW RepairsWe have a 2005 FS30 and have not had to many MAJOR PROBLEMS:R with ours yet. However reading all of this and talking to friends who WW trailers - I am not confident that WW we stand behind their product:( We purchased ours back in Jan of 2005 and it spent a total of 164 days in for service and repairs out of the first year and half that we owned it. In addition we had purchased the extended warranty that gives us an additional 4 years of coverage! bringing the total to 6 years. However, In calling the Perris, Calif facility last year about all the news on the frames! I spoke to the service manager and was informed then! that the extended warranty was not covered or honored through them! it was through another company! a surprise to us from what we were told by GIANT RV in Irvine. Although we do not have any major issues with ours at this time! we have only used it 15 times since we purchased it! and it has been parked and covered since August of last year. Did not trust pulling it after it damaged our tow vehicle with (2002 Ford Excursion - Limited) Receiver/tow hitch. Would not recommend a WW or Giant RV to anyone! P.S. I could not even start to list the times in for repair / the things repaired! and for how long it was in for!! :M
