All very nice, and should be good weather wise in the first part of October, but all can have snow at any time then!! Look into visiting Steens Mountain in SE Oregon. Would be right on the path for you coming from N CA. We have not been to any of these places, but sounds interesting. Will look them up, and see what I can find. Thank you.... LindaSuggestions for first part of Oct.neededWe bought a 24’ C class RV last Nov. and after a few three day trips, we took our first “real” trip (11 days) to Vancouver Island in July. We are now ready to take our next trip during the first half on Oct.. WHERE TO GO?!?! We live in Northern CA, and plan to be gone for 7 to 10 days. Will be taking our two small dogs and one cat.. Prior to retiring, we took many trips up the California, and Oregon coasts, but would like to go somewhere we haven’t been. Would like to go to Glacier Park, but afraid this might be too late to go ...(snowy roads?) We would love to hear your suggestions as to where to go. We like to sightsee ...we don’t bike, or hike (except short trails). I guess basically, we love driving thru scenic places, stopping and looking around when we want, short walk/hike ...repeat. Generally we spend only one night at a campground/RV Park, then move on, so we can see more, Fall colors would be nice, but may be too late. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Re: Trip planning help needed!Thank you all for taking the time to help me out. You make this forum, the great community It is! SideHillSoup, thank you for the heads up about Banff being SO busy during the Summer months. We will take your advise to waiting until around Sept. for that trip. Vancouver Island sounds great....We have been to Victoria, (love it and Spinnakers for fish and chips) but have traveled no further on the island. I think we’re going to go with Vancouver Island.Trip planning help needed! In 2017 we rented a car and did a 1week DIY road trip in AK, before boarding our cruise ship...(our 2nd AK cruise). I tell you that so you know what type a beauty we appreciate most. Since then we bought a 24’ Motorhome, and had hoped to drive to AK. This year we decided we can only get away for 16 days. We live in northern Calif. We are thinking about going into Canada, but not sure where we should go. We don’t hike, we like to drive thru the beautiful scenery, making stops along the way. We’re not familiar with Canada, and I’m hopeful for suggestions of beautiful scenic routes, and places. I’ve heard Baniff is beautiful and Whistler. Any advise or suggestions of places to see, routes to take, would be greatly appreciated. I might add, my husband was mentioned driving to Haines AK instead of touring Canada. Has anyone here done that.Top RV manufacturers?I would appreciate your personal opinions, of the top quality makers of class c rv’s. Sounds like Winnebago is the best, and Thor the worse. We are looking for a good quality used class c. Which makers should I look at after Winnebago?Re: 2005 Winnebago Itasca CambriaWe ran the vin# and it said it was a 2005 chassis... can we believe that?2005 Winnebago Itasca CambriaWe currently own a 27’ fifthwheel, which my husband has never gotten comfortable pulling/ maneuvering it, plus a lot of work setting up, and breaking down... much like the travel trailers, we’ve pulled for years. We have been considering buying a newer used c class mh, but since we are quickly approaching retirement, we have decided that that’s just too much money to “risk” on a used Motorhome, at our age. Today we looked at a few used 22’-24’ travel trailers...that left us questioning, if we really wanted to go that route, since it would still have the big set up/breakdown situation. So while looking at travel trailers today, I walked into the following B+ class mh, and felt “this is it” and we could afford “risking $36,000 a lot better than $57,000 or more. So..... Considering this is a Winnebago, is a 2005 for $36,000. worth considering? It’s a very clean 26A. ... “B+” class. One slide-out. 47,078 miles. The outside is not faded at all, looks new, so must have been covered or garaged. It is at a used RV dealership nearby. We have a friend who is a Ford Mechanic, who could check out it’s Ford Triton V-10 engine for us. Any advise you care to share, would be greatly appreciated.Reese Sidewinder PinboxReese Sidewinder Pinbox owners.....I have a 27 ft. Fifth wheel. I am pulling it with a Tundra with a 6 1/2 foot bed. I am considering purchasing a Reese Sidewinder Pinbox. I would like to know how they track at highway speeds....any sway or is there excessive movement in windy conditions? Are you happy with your Sidewinder? Any pros or cons you have discovered. TIA
