One of my concerns is the height that the awning would be at since it would be about 12” lower than the main patio awning- would it create a “low overhead problem”. The other concern is, would the awning rub against the slide’s edge or would it have enough height to clear the edge of the slide as it extends beyond the slide? I figure it would extend out in and angle and not straight out from the slide. I wonder as it extends out on an angle, would it rub and potentially create holes?RV Awning clearances for second awning installHello! I am hoping somebody can help shed light on a 2nd patio awning install we would like to do on our 2015 Keystone Outback 316RL. Specifically, we want to add a second patio awning on the slide. But I'm not sure what type of clearances we need (i.e. from windows, top of the slide, overhang of awning on the sides, etc.) We do have a rail above the slide that a slide topper could attach too but we haven't done that. My initial though is, "Why couldn't we use that rail to attach a patio awning to it and as the slide extends out it naturally unwinds the awning (of course we would have to unlock the awning before extending) and then once the slide is fully extended, we just finish pulling the awning out the rest of the way until it too is fully extended. Or would I have to install a rail kit on the slide itself?Re: Going RVWe too like seeing the different units and like many others have said, realize this is semi-scripted with people that were previous buyers etc. There are a lot of odd questions and the one that gets us the most is the fascination with the awnings! I will admit we were similar to many you see on the show when we bought our first travel trailer- didn't know anything (though the DW grew up around CL A&Cs so we thought we knew everything)had money to spend and an undersized truck to pull it! We've grown up a little in the last few years and learned a thing or two. Still like the show even through it's fake on various levels.Re: Savanah, Georgia campgrounds. We live down here near Hinesville, (just south of Savannah and things are getting back to normal. There's still a lot of clean-up and some power issues but nothing that is still overwhelming the areas. Sorry to hear they are slow to respond back to you. If we hear anything in the next couple days, we'l help keep you posted.Re: Upgrade to theater seating(?)I'm interested to know as well, unless you have guys posing as furniture that also serve you meat as you sit there!Re: Upgrade to theater seating(?)DREWE- good call- I've never looked under the couch to see if there is any electricity or other things! Hadn't considered that.Re: Upgrade to theater seating(?)I appreciate the help in figuring this out, I didn't really think regular furniture would work in the TT. This gives me some options!Upgrade to theater seating(?)The DW and I are looking at ideas to upgrade to theater seating in our Outback 316RL. Since it's just the two of us we figure we can have any guests sleep on an air mattress. The couch is not comfortable to sit on at all, seems to be too short for any type of leg support while seated. Only trick I see is that we have the booth dinette and not a free standing table unit so the space is fixed. I realize C-World has a few versions based on what you want to spend, so that is one option, but I am hoping others have come up with other solutions as well.Re: walmart overnight parkingWe traveled up to Gatlinburg over the 2016 Columbas Day weekend and we called the Walmart in Newberry, SC (off of exit 76 on I-26) and spoke to the assist store manager (I asked for the store manager) and he responded with, "...we normally don't allow any overnight, but you can park on the southside." We skipped that one and drove onto Cosby, TN and saw campers at the Walmart off I-40 at exit 435. Stayed there with no issues and went in the next morning to pick-up a few things as well.Overall, a good experience partly due to "The Next Exit" as guide to know where to stop and Walmarts for allowing overnight.Re: Grills?I have to agree with everybody else on the Webers as well. I have several (Silver, 22" kettle, Q-100, Q2200, and the Smokey Mountain). I really like Webers, built like Sherman tanks. So it is hard to imagine burners failing. Nonetheless, call weber, they have the parts you'll need. The Baby Q (100) has an 8K burner, not the 12k. I used the Baby Q for years and recently upgraded to the 2200 for the larger burner and split grates. I liked the Baby Q but the split grates was the big difference maker for me. I also have a camp Chef stove - love the 30K burners. Adds a huge dimension of stove top cooking since I dislike cooking in the camper (if I could get a camper without a stove and oven I would). As fellas a blackstone flat-top. That's great when cooking for a crowd.
