Re: Jump box for dual battery 7.3 dieselI use the JNC 770B and it jumped my 6.6 duramax with no issues when It was below zero. I had one battery that was bad.Re: Looking for some advise on flat beds / cab and chassisI'm running a ram 5500 with a flat bed. I just use a short turnbuckle and tie right to the stake pockets on the bed. One watch out is the beds are higher. I had to use 6" spacers under the jacks to get the camper on the truck. I'm running the 60" CA version with a 9" spacer between the front of the bed and the camper.Re: anyone running: Champion 2800W gas/propane inverter Gennie?I have the gasoline only version and it is quiet and has been trouble free.Re: Propane Usage 2500 Watt Onan Boondocking2019 wrote: Eric&Lisa wrote: Probably not a good choice for a long running generator, thus you won't go through that much propane. Maybe an hour or two here and there for A/C. It is rather noisy (though it is within National Park standards). But for quick & easy power it can't be beat. DW firing it up to run her hairdryer sure does beat the alternative of me getting booted out of the camper and being told to set up a generator! -Eric I had a portable 2000 kw Yamaha Gas Generator for our 5th Wheel and only used it a couple of times, hauled it around in the trailers basement and I still own it. The Camper purchase was for getting into those solitude places plus to pull our UTV Side x Side Trailer. Agreed the Generator is a little noisy and wife isn’t to warm and fuzzy with the noise. Here’s my concern and why I asked the propane usage question. After our first camping trip for three days I ran the Generator 30 minutes, fired the Hot Water Heater Up three times for showers, used Shore power to run the Refrigerator and didn’t run the stove. Took Camper off the truck and I left one tank Propane valve open. I checked the tank compartment to shut off the propane valve after I winterized the Camper and I found the tank indicator in the Red and the tank was empty. I know the tank was green when I pulled it off the Camper and to see it now empty concerns me that I might have a leak somewhere. I sprayed soapy water around the tank valves, lines, regulator fittings and they are all good. I do get a slight whiff of propane when I open the Door to the Tank Compartment with the valves open. I closed off the valves with both tanks now full and there’s no propane odor. I’m thinking it needs to have the Dealer perform a leak down Pressure check as for the little time we used the propane components while camping there might be a leak in the Furnace, Refrigerator, or the Generator. Not my first RV and owned several over the past 30 years, but sure seems concerning that 5 gal tank didn’t last nearly as long as I expected. Was the tank empty or the needle in the red? If just going by the gauge mine shows empty but has lots of propane left. For that reason I never go by that gauge.Re: GMC dually payload/camper loading stickerGo by the door sticker. The sticker in the glove box assumes all seats are full.Re: Towing with Dedicated Winter Snow Tires (snowflake rating)I'm running the firestone winterforce LT's on my dually and love them. Went from using 4wd all the time to using it twice last year. I haul a slide in camper with them on and they don't seem to be wearing fast at all.Re: lance 975After using it a few times I've found a few issues. When we got it home I noticed 2 of the lag bolts holding the slide out mechanism to the camper loose. I ended up putting a lag bolt up through the dump valve compartment to get rid of one of the lag bolts. The next issue was the passenger side trim on the bottom was coming off so I had to reattach it. Another issue was the remote for the jacks didn't work very well. I took off the cover over the power center and found that the antenna for the remote was just coiled up on the control board. I unwrapped it, stretched it out and secured it to the 12v wires. Hopefully this will take care of some of the remote issues.Re: tailgate opening width to narrowYou can make it fit by putting 2X's on the floor to raise it above the rounded areaRe: lance 975 GULFMAN wrote: hello Timdan94 I was going to go and look at one (975) this weekend. Would like to see if there is room to take out and replace the table and seats with two recliners. What do you think is there enough room? Thanks I'm going to say no due to the storage and the battery compartment under the dinette
