BruceOlder Propane TanksA good friend of mine stopped by yesterday with a "new to him" 1989 model Class C. It looks like the propane tank on his rig is not removable. The tank lays horizontal & has a different filling connections than your usual removable portable 20 or 30 pound cylinders. We are wondering if a place that fills propane cylinders will even fill it! I'd appreciate suggestions or experience's that any of you have had with this type of set-up. Thanks in advance, BruceRe: Torklifts & Fastgun'sThanks Fellas, I really appreciate ya all taking the time to respond - BruceRe: Sales tax, tag, and registration?Just this week, I completed the purchased a new TC. The dealer I purchased it from is Located in Oregon & I reside in Illinois. Illinois, does not collect sales tax, title or require plates for truck campers "the plates on the truck cover both truck & TC". As it's already been stated here, Tennessee will have it's own laws, but this is what my experience has been. I do agree with Keyteg1 tho, regarding State taxes. Even though the dealer from another state isn't required to collect them, doesn't mean you aren't expected to declare it on your home state's income tax. A trip to your local DMV should give you your answers. BruceTorklifts & Fastgun'sI just finished the purchase of a 10-2 Northern Lite TC & in another month, I will be driving a 2018 Chevy 3500 dually. Now I'm in the market for the tie-downs. When I look at Torklift products, it's a pretty much cut & dried EXCEPT for the Choice: Steel or Aluminum! I would like to ask those who have used or are are familiar with Torklift products, is it worth the extra "roughly" $200 for the Aluminum braces??? Secondly, my truck is Charcoal & Northern Lite Campers are white Fiberglass. Fastguns are offered in Stainless steel, Gray & Black & I've never seen them in person, SO what do you all think would look best with my combination?? Thanks for any information you folks can offer up - BruceRe: Alaska Trip 2017' - Larson's Epic Adventure TR - (Part 1)EXCELLENT!! Thanks for taking the time to post - BruceRe: Buying a new camper, which one?Soup, Thanks a lot of for the response back! Usually I ask questions when it's too late, so this time I'm trying, to get a feel of the different options available "before I Buy"! Thanks Again BruceRe: Buying a new camper, which one?SideHillSoup, "built the way we want it" what exactly did you order that was different? I think I will be a Northern Lite owner myself "very soon"!! BruceRe: The end for meSo so sorry for your loss......there are just no words to take away the pain & sorrow. Lwiddis, gave some excellent advice "the same advice My 81 year old Mother was given in December of last year, when my father passed after 60 years of marriage". If you would like, I can send you a copy of an article written by a widow, who went through the same trying experience. If you are interested, just drop me a note. Take Care & God Bless, BruceRe: Truck bed & slide in question? Grit dog wrote: Do you have a 5ver? If not, remove the rails...... Seems simpler than cobbling up stuff to put the camper on. That is the plan for down the road, but I was mainly wondering if it was alright to do just incase I would happen to buy a TC & need to take possession of it before I could get the rails out "We are going to look at a couple of used units this weekend". Thanks for the advice, Bruce
