Take pictures and make memories. Your camper is the best thing you have ever spent money on. Take time and plan to use or you won't.Re: Where are you heading for Memorial Day?Fern Cliff, Il.Re: Smaller bunk house trailer recommendationsJust my 2 cents along with everyone elses. We have an Ameri-lite 16bhc. We bought it used and enjoy it. Some things to watch out for while you shop. 1) Inside head room. Many are 6' and my head would rub the ceiling. 2) tank sizes. Many of the smaller tailers have 9 gal gry/ black tanks. 3) You want 6' long bunks that hold 250lbs. (kids grow fast) 4) Roof a/c unit. The only thing I wish our camper had was a sink in the bathroom. Small campers are nice, there are many campsites out there that are great but you are not going to get a big camper in. Have fun with your shopping.Re: Where'd You Start?I'm the only one in my family that ever camped or wanted to be outside. My parents grew up poor, my father dirt poor. They felt they had arrived in the early 70's when they could aford the American dream of a home and 2 cars with 3 kids, so they were not interested in camping etc. My dad was a good man and knew I was very creative, he would bring me things home from Eglin Air force base. One of the best things he would bring was the old silk parachutes. This was my first tent made from left over pvc pipe from the sprinkler system and my silk parachute folded and tied in the corners to make an a frame tent. Slept meany nights outside in that tent, my parents thought I was nuts. Fast forward, my oldest soon was ill as a child and we had lots of bills so i worked 2 jobs, he was a video gammer kid and the camping idea did not interest the wife. Fast forward again, the older son is in high school playing football and band and working, my younger son by 7 years loved camping and we would camp in a little 2 man tent, this got the wife interested and we bought a cabin type tent, then after a few years we bought a used pop up with A/C and after about 5 years/just this year we bought a like new 2013 Ameri-lite 16bhc, air and toliet.Re: had my fill of campgroundsSome things we have found to help this. We look for the camp ground with a host and choose sites near them. Party people usally want to be away from them. Also campgrounds that have a gate closing at 10 and opening at 7 greatly help as party campers want to have friends coming and going. Also we run the roof a/c or just the fan as white noise.Re: COACHMEN CLIPPER ?We went with a 16bh Ameri-Lite, the Clipper was on or radar also. We just did not like the door on the BH version. The Clipper is the same as a Viking. They are nice campers. I would suggest a toaster oven, you can set it outside instead of heating up your camper. Also a small omlete maker is great, 14 minutes, egg beatter and you have to omlettes.Re: Need Missouri-area recommendationWhat is pickleball?Re: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!EnochLight, nice tt. We just upgraded from our pop up to a 2013 Amerilite 16 bhc also. It was a used unit in like new condition with roof air and an additional roof fan in the kitchen area. We are are very happy with the camper over all. 2 big issues in my mind I have found with the Amerilite tt, just wanted to give an FYI about. Those class c tires are very marganl for the tt at best. etrailer.com has d class tires on rims for $100.95 each. White with red and blue pin strips. They have free shipping from time to time. Also check your bath tub bracing, ours was not secured in place and a little lacking. I secured it, filled the tub with water and foamed it in underneath. One other thing, under the white caps you have ez lub hubs. I was unaware of this untill I changed the tires out. Great little camper for us and the grandkids, not to little and not a monster to get around. Have a great day. Paul
