You are most kind to reply so quickly.Re: An answer to a question please?Thank you ScottG and wrgrs50s. I appreciate the info. Now we'll be comfortable asking them to join us at the lake!??Re: An answer to a question please?Thank you! So boondocking is not out of question? We boondock at the lake and mountains and we want them to join us but we're concerned they couldn't because of the fridge. Thank you again, OkieRe: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos Tvov wrote: Okie in Wyoming wrote: I found an answer to the floor vent problem of catching dirt, bugs etc. I bought a box of knee high stockings (8 pair in a box) at the dollar store. I took the vent cover off, slipped the stocking over it, tucked the end under and screwed the cover back on. What the top layer doesn't catch, the bottom layer does! The stocking didn't "run" when I put the screws back in, and if it wears out, I can replace it very easily! And the stocking (suntan shade) are the perfect color to blend in! I need to remember this! Friends have a Jayco with floor vents, and multiple yellow labs. Fur and dirt gets everywhere! We had 2 dogs that shed quite a bit. This 'fix' kept the hair out of the floor vents! I was amazed at how well it works. Sadly both of our precious furboys passed away this summer. Hope this works as good for your friend. An answer to a question please? Our friends just bought a 40 foot motor home, planning to travel a large part of the year. The motor home has a residential refrigerator, does this mean it will ONLY run when plugged in to electricity at a campground? If so, how does the fridge run if you are going down the road? This also crosses out any boondocking? Thank you for your help, OkieRe: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosI found an answer to the floor vent problem of catching dirt, bugs etc. I bought a box of knee high stockings (8 pair in a box) at the dollar store. So i took a 2 litre soda bottle washed it out, cut the top and bottom off to make a tube, then cut the tube lengthwise, viola! Instant paper towel clamp... Neat idea! We use a rubber band... ;) I just stick a safety pin (through few sheets) in the middle of the roll, no unrolling. I have a magnet on the side of the holder for the pin while we are in camp. Also do the same for the toilet paper.Re: Water capacity? For washing our hair, we use a 5 gallon solar bag. I put it on the pickup hood in the sun to warm. Sometimes the temp is a bit too warm, but it works for us.Re: What kind of RVer are youWe are weekenders with 2 one week long trips a year. As often as we can, it's Friday - Sunday to the lakes. But not all weekends, and not as often as we would like to go.... I am still working so we are grounded most of the time. Plus Camping Season is short here.... OkieRe: Wyoming/Colorado weather in Oct.We have lived here for 17 years and found we can have warm, beautiful weather, or a blizzard with high winds. There is no "regular" weather here in that time frame. We keep an eye on the forecasts and hope for the best. Early winter or Late autumn, just never know... I'm sorry I am not much help - it is so unpredictable. Okie
