When I got my new tries (i removed the wheel/tire assemblies myself and took them to the shop) I found that I have a leak in my differential at the hub. Although I have not began the process of repairing this, I plan on doing it myself. I have been doing some investigating but cant find much information on replacing the bearing and or seal. I know a large socket is needed and I dont mind purchasing the needed tools that I cont already have. So my question is have any of you tackled this project on your own and if so do you have any insight and or specs and drawings of the process?Re: replacement tire suggestionsThanks everyone. I stayed with the Toyo M 136 tires.Re: replacement tire suggestionsThank You all for your input. Have any of you heard or have experience with Sailun tires? I went to the local tire shop that I normally deal with. Although he is always willing to get whatever brand I want he told me to research and think about them before making a decision. It is worth mentioning that he normally sells Cooper but can get any brand. He tells me that his distributer sells a lot of them and has good reports on them. They are a Chinese tire.replacement tire suggestionsLooking for some advice from the gurus on this site on tires. I have a 30 foot F-53 Ford chassis. Currently I have TOYO "M143" 245 70 R 19.5. These tires came on the coach when I bought it and they have served me well. However it is time to replace. I know that the F-53 chassis is not the smoothest riding chassis but I think it can be better and Im wondering what, if any different tires may help the ride. Im not a fan of Michelins as I have had poor performance out of them so I am planning on avoiding them. Any suggestions and personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Re: Rust and PaintLots of ways to do the repair. Only one way to do it completely right which would be to remove and have it media blasted. Now having said that, I would not go to that extent. I am a big fan of the rust reformer type products as mentioned before. The best one I personally have found is sold at NAPA. I believe made by Permatex. Seems to do a much better job than others I have used. On painting it. I have good luck with Rustoleum with a foam brush or roller. If you are careful you can get it applied and it will level out as it dries. I also am a big advocate of mixing the Rustoleum with a "catalyst" or hardener. Although not normally seen at Lowes or HD. I buy it at Tractor Supply. It really make the paint last longer and fade resistant. Also makes it more fuel and solvent resistant. Just remember that what you mix will only last a short time so don't mix more than you will need or you will end up with a lot wasted.Re: After 4 years of Red Max Pro - the resultsJust curious. When you use the stripper to remove the old wax, does it harm any decals that the Red Max Pro was applied over?Re: Early 2000's Fleetwood ExpeditionThe engine number is: 56698203 so I am thinking that it is not a 53 block.Re: Early 2000's Fleetwood ExpeditionThanks everyone for all the help so far. Is there an easy way to find out if it has the #53 block engine?Re: Early 2000's Fleetwood ExpeditionThanks to all. Not sure if it is allowed but here is a video of the one he is looking at. Clicky.
