I think we're going to GA.. stay tuned.Re: Looking for a good diesel pusher serviceAccsys, I was thinking the same thing. The MH only has 43K on it. How often should the Allison be serviced?Looking for a good diesel pusher serviceWe're looking for recommendations for a reputable place to service our new to us 2005 Monaco motorhome and it needs to be located somewhere near The Villages, FL. Since we weren't able to get all the service records due to health issues, we're looking to a clean start on the necessary service. Must be able to handle a 40 foot motorhome for an oil change, all filters including the Onan Quiet Diesel 8000. The engine is a Cummins 400. Any assistance is welcome. Thanks everyone!! ScottRe: We finally pulled the plugMr.Mark.. no offense intended. The consignments I've been looking at within 100 miles of us were dirty and worn. The private sale MH's were all just the opposite. It's just what we saw is all. I think the newer the consigned MH the cleaner it tended to be. I really don't think this is a reflection of the owners but rather the effort the dealers put forth to sell the units.Re: We finally pulled the plugOh my gosh your right.. we pulled the trigger, not the plug!! We located this one on RV Trader, for sale by owner. Bought their toad also with all the necessary towing equipment. Well maintained, spotless, and well loved makes all the difference. Almost bought one from a dealer and it was sold out from under us. We dodged the bullet on that one, thank goodness. Buying a garaged, well maintained MH vs the filthy, worn out consignments that we spent months looking at.. priceless! Best of luck on your search.. try to buy used. JMHORe: We finally pulled the plugWe were so excited by the time I got home I realized I'd forgotten to take any!! We pick it up on Saturday. It's going to be a very long week.We finally pulled the plugWe did it.... Found an amazing 2005 Monaco Diplomat, turnkey!!. Very well cared for and exceptionally clean. Newer tires and new batteries, it has the Cummins ISL 400. All the bells and whistles. Got their toad also with the all towing equipment. The sellers will no longer be RV'g due to health issues and are the nicest people. I think we made new friends, a bonus.Re: Escow accounts??Thank you everyone, your advise is helpful and appreciated.Re: Escow accounts??Thank you, that exactly my concern as well.Escow accounts??My wife and I are interested in purchasing a 1 or 2 year old Class A MH in the near future, our 4th unit since 2000. Mainly only interested in private party sales, would like to skip the BS at many of the big named stores. The question is when buying used from a private seller, how do I handle the transaction issue. Planning on 50 to 70K and I don't feel at all comfortable turning that kind of money over and waiting for the seller to pay off their loan in order to get me the title. This just seems uncomfortable for me. In the past I either went through a dealer or it was under 10K. Thanks you. Thoughts?? Scott
