The different options will come in handy depending on the season and length of our stay.Camping near Blacksburg Va.We just moved our daughter to Blacksburg Va. and would like to find some nice campgrounds in this area. A google search didn't reveal that many campgrounds. I did find a small Interstate Overnight Park. Ironically next to the hotel we stayed at. I was hoping there were more camping options in the Blacksburg/Christiansburg area. Any Ideas would be appreciated.Re: Spare TireJust ordered a new rim, once it arrives i will be having Goodyear Endurance tires installed. Mechanic said the tire was defective.Re: Spare TireThanks for the recommendations on tires.Spare TireLast week I brought our TT home to pack for a weekend trip. I noticed excessive wear on one of the tires. So I decided to change it with the spare tire that has been on the back bumper since we purchased this trailer used two years ago.To my surprise the rim didn't fit my trailer. The spare was a 5 lug pattern and my TT is a 6 lug pattern. It is a new tire and rim so I would guess the mistake was made by the original dealer or at the factory. So check under that tire cover and make sure the spare will fit before your on the side of the road and find out it won't fit. Thank goodness I found out in my driveway and was able to fix the problem easily without semis whizzing by on the side of the road. Anyone have a tire preference they can recommend I will be replacing tires and a rim in the near future?Re: Assateague Park areaThank you everyone for your help.Assateague Park areaOur daughter is a student at the University of Maryland so our vacation plans include visiting with her. Our plan was to drive to Cherry Hill Campground and stay there a few days then head to Assateague state park. Unfortunately they are booked already. Can someone suggest an alternate campground in that area. We plan to see the wild horses (our daughter is an equine lover)and then head north to Bethany Beach area so we are looking for someplace between those two points.Re: 2015 summer vacation details: PA, MD, VA, DE, NJ, NYYes it is my wife and I were just there less than a month ago. They are in the process of building an Education Center at the top of the hill in the flight path. You can still walk around at the bottom and talk to a Park volunteer.Re: 2015 summer vacation details: PA, MD, VA, DE, NJ, NYWe have been to many of these places but in three or four trips. Here are some helpful thoughts. If you get a late start and want to stop along the Ohio Turnpike several of the rest areas have RV hook ups. Also think about stopping in Shanksville PA. at the 9/11 site. Gettysburg visitor center is a great place to start your tour. Cherry Hill is the place to stay while in DC. We have taken the bus from the campground to the Metro station. It takes you passed the University of Maryland and down side streets. It is faster to drive to the Greenbelt station and if a weekend I think you can park for free. The Metro is the way to get around in DC. There are many places to go in DC and most are free. Not sure if it's still this way but some tours had to be set up through your Congressman's office. NYC we camped at Liberty Harbor in NJ and walked to the PATH station and took it into the city. They also have a ferry boat that takes commuters across the river to NYC. Don't over do it and try to cram to much into one trip. Your making memories not enemies when children are over tired and grumpyRe: Cleveland, OH to Hamburg, NY things to do in between.Oh trust me my wife and I love to go to Amish Country. We stay at Scenic Hills RV park 112 full hook up sites. No restrooms or showers so it keeps the tent and pop up campers to a minimum, very quiet place. We usually go to NY to visit relatives and glad we do because we love that area.
