I took a cotter pin passed the spring through the center and put it through a hole drilled in the side of the post. Then bent the legs flat against the side (on both sides) then did the same for the cap. This allows 1 handed operation. I just pull the cap out until it clears the post and rotate it under the post. I have had this post on 2 5th wheels for over 50,000 miles and hasn't failed me yet. I'd get pictures, but it is cold and wet and in storage, and I've got a bourbon drink in hand.Re: Is there a midbunk with an outside kitchen?Sierra/Sandpiper makes 2 different models bunk 5th wheels. The 371rebh and 372lok. The 372 has an outside kitchen. Sierra Luxury RVRe: Level-Up rebootIf Cedar Creek still uses the hydraulic Level up there will be no issue. It may not remember your hitch height, but it will power up and work the same as before. I shut the batteries down on mine everything it is parked and have no issues.Re: Running outside fridge while travelingI have a 1000w inverter in the 5th. It runs both my outside refrigerator and the inside one. The inside is a French Door residential. I ran some tests on both of them and I have not seen more than 600w being pulled from the inverter. That is with both refrigerators running. I have had the outside refrigerator on an inverter running on 2 campers now. I have ran for days driving out west without opening the door for the kitchen and not had any problems with overheating. When I put the outside refrigerator on the old camper I had two plugs near it. One was for the invertor and the other was regular A/C. I would just plug the refrigerator into the outlet that I needed.Re: Towing 5th wheelI have seen 2 front rails get bent by towing in the manuvering position. It puts a lot of upwards force on the front rail that it can't handle.Re: Good Thing he Didn't Put A Camper On It.Now it is easier to clean the rear window!Re: 50 amp wiringIf the generators have a gfci it will not work. The load on the neutral will be unbalanced and trip the gfci. The 30/20-50 combines only work if there is no gfci on either plug. Either get 2 eu2000's, or equivalent, or one bigger generator.Re: B&W Ford OEM hitch owners opinion wantedI have a cable that I attached to the hitch head (there is a hole on the bottom side of the head) and run it down to the puck handle. I use a trailer tongue lock that lock's the base. As for the breakaway cable I put a key snap hook on it. I have the cable doubled up in itself to make it shorter, then I clip it to the ring that holds the chain to the pin in the head.Re: Bed alignment after under bed hitch install.I wouldn't worry about getting the pucks dead center of the hole. Set the bed on the frame rails and measure the spacing between the cab and the bed. That is going to be the most obvious place to tell if the bed is square.Re: Rule of 7'sYour speed data is out of date. Kentucky does not have a separate towing/not towing speed. The rural interstate speed limit is 70 for all.
