I've used the furnace for two moose hunting seasons flawlessly. When I went to show the buyer how the system works, I couldn't get the thermostat to allow the main gas valve to open even though the pilot light was lit and the gas valve was set to on. But I also didn't have a 12 volt battery hooked up, was using 110 vac at the the time. When I was moose hunting, I always had a battery hooked up. My camper does have a 110vac/12vdc converter for the lights, water pump, the fan on the furnace, etc. My question is, does anyone know if it's a must to have 12 volts present when running the furnace? Maybe the thermostat isn't hooked up to the converter? thanks anyone. crunchieRe: Solar panel prices going up?IMHO, solar panels prices will increase as long as consumers will continue to buy, there's no way of getting around it, it's the capitalist's system of supply and demand. Once the oil industry is less demanding, the govt will tax us on the solar usage (depending on the total area of our panels used) even though they do do not provide the service. We cannot get free energy forever, the govt will not allow it, they have too much money to lose, just my 2 cents. So get as much solar energy as you can before the govt intervenes.Re: propane regulator pressure questionThat does make sense when you think about it. I'll try and test the pressure with the fridge running, waiting a few minutes for it to settle. I guess if I set it at 11", the number I get without a load is irrelevant. Tks, maybe others will chime in with some input.propane regulator pressure questionI bought a new propane fridge for the cottage and put the older one in the shed. Found a regulator in the drawer and tested with my home built manometer, it tested 13" water column with the manometer connected straight to the regulator. I connected the fridge anyway and it seemed fine. I didn't like the idea of it being at 13" and it's not adjustable so I bought a brand new one which is adjustable. Funny thing is, I tested the new one the same way and it too measures 13" wc??? Should these regulators not measure 11" when connected straight to the manometer?? Tks for responding, anyone else tried this test with a home made manometer?
