A little later I get the return call from the Camping World associate and he tells me that he can get the parts for me for $70.20. I totally understand some price differences from store to store, but from $27.00 to $70.20? At least I got a return call, thanks,..but I really hope he just made a pricing mistake. good thread...to good to die so soon. first off, why did the part need repair? did it drag? these have a charge pin thats 1/8" wide and very thin. Gone are the days of 10 ga, 30 amp charge circuits. Seen a 2015 truck with this plug and they stepped down to a 14 ga. charge wire. Thats only rated for 15 amps. Probably to help save this connection. Good luck with that. On RV parts: I have a parts store. Etailers buy from the same vendors I do. My vendor just sales and drop ships so cheap for them, that the etailer can sell for about the same price I buy from my vendor for. etailers dont have to warehouse product, so they dont. So, when RV stores dont stock it anymore, you know why. Folks think were cutting a fat hog and it aint so. Were tired of folks coming in too for the touchy, feely on the item and our expert advice on the model thats best so they can just go order online. i dont even staff the store anymore, they just know to come find me in the shop. Of course this is a camping world site, and we know they could afford cheaper prices. They get right from the manufacturers. But why should they, the independent rv shops pricing is dictated by the vendors so they dont have to. So, now you know whats happening in the RV parts industry. Charging 70 dollars for something that can be bought on line for 27!!! That my friend is cutting the fat hog. Pretty sure you missed the point of my post.origin of Good SamI remember Good Sam started with a magazine. The magazine went to all the mom and pop shops and said " hey, lets promote "good sam". You just offer 10% off and drive sales to your store. Then the magazine started selling accessories and we all said whoa. Then they started camping world. Can you remember the name of the magazine? I just googled and got "highways". I dont think that was it. Anyone remember back that far?Re: I Really Do Try To Support Camping World, but it's hard. If the manufacture bought 100 batteries and it took six month to use them up and if the dealer left the rig plugged in with a dumb converter or it sat for six months with the battery discharged, it's not Interstates fault. OP, you have a sorry dealer and next time I'm sure you will require a new off the shelf battery. For $100 you have learn a fairly inexpensive lesson and a pretty good idea of the quality of your dealer. Good Luck. PS: I only got ten years out of my Interstate engine batteries... granted I found the caps (maintenance free) and added a small amount of water every two years. PSS: OP, do you have a smart/three stage converter? If not then you have a cheap manufacture too. I believe the dealer installs the batteries, not the manufacturer. At least on non-motorized.Re: date code on your batteries and age SoundGuy wrote: Crockett wrote: the warranty period of the battery in a new coach should start at the purchase date of the trailer. Before that its considered to be sitting on a shelf. But the battery itself, regardless of any trailer warranty, begins it's life and therefore it's slow process of deterioration at birth, arguably the same as do we humans :E ... ergo, the reason Interstate in this case is declining any obligation to replace the battery a year beyond it's date of manufacture. Interstate also has a clear policy stating that any Interstate battery still in their possession or any of their wholesalers must be re-charged every 3 months. The retailer on the other hand isn't obligated to any policies of another company and you can bet just lets their battery stock sit on the shelf until it sells, regardless of how long that may take. Interstate batteries are clearly identified as to their manufacturing date but the OP is probably correct in that not many of us bother checking that date. I have, and my own Interstate G27 which was manufactured just a couple of months before we took delivery of our 2008 KZ Spree in the spring of 2007 is still doing fine after all these years of use. I had actually planned to replace it this year but at the moment there seems be no reason to. :B not really talking the properties of batteries here. as a consumer, if the warranty doesnt start when purchased then youve entered a vast gray area. the vendor needs to rotate stock and the dealer should not install older batteries. someone should make it right to the consumer...Re: suburban furnace won't startim going with fan control relay. either on the board or off the board, with a remote possibility of motor. the board mounted relays are problematic. intermittent on the motor would be more rare IMO. assuming the click and no fan.Re: date code on your batteries and agethe warranty period of the battery in a new coach should start at the purchase date of the trailer.
