We, as responsible dog owners must do what we can to let the offenders know this is not acceptable. I forgot to mention that the campground staff that collects trash does not stop the trash truck to collect every individual poop bag. That is why a lot of bags are sitting around.Pet owners not cleaning up after dogs.I recently enjoyed a beach camping trip. I have noticed that pet owners are often picking up and bagging poop but then leave the bags beside of paths in the campground for the campground trash collectors to pick up. I do not understand why anyone would do this. Doing things such as this will only cause trouble. It could place restrictions on pets, cause new additional "pet" fees to be added or worse ban dogs all together. I saw this last year as well but I think it is happening now more than ever. I have seen this in different campgrounds. Please remember that even in a campground with trash pickup at your campsite it is YOUR responsibility to dispose of a poop bag properly. Picking up poop is only the first step. It is easy to drop a bag into a trash or dog waste receptacle! The campground I was staying provided doggie bags AND waste receptacles and people were still leaving the little bags of poop on the ground. We love bringing our dog with us but I fear that the actions of a few may ruin it for many.Re: Electrial QuestionYou did not mention if the other campers in your immediate area are having this trouble also. I would ask them and if they have the same problem they could report it also. If you can not work anything else out you can get a professional to take a reading and then provide the results to the campground management. I recommend the use of the surge protectors that have built in power monitoring. The monitor will turn the power off to your camper until the voltage returns to a safe level. This works for voltage that is too low, as well as voltage that is to high. Some of these units also provide protection for an incorrectly wired pedestal. You can get the units that go inline with your power cord, or they make a version that mounts inside of your camper and is permanently wired into your power supply. No matter what version you choose remember to get one with power monitoring as well as surge protection.Re: New stereo needed- options? My stereo quit over a year ago. I looked at several options. My unit was the Linear Series unit with analog tuning and a tape deck. The quality was not that great. I replaced it with a auto type made by JVC. It has a CD player and an aux input that can be used for anything but I feed my TV into it. The sound quality is much better. The size was different, but I finished a piece of wood to fill in the void. It actually looks nice. I do not watch TV much while camping, but if I wanted to do that I think I would buy a DVD player from Walmart, but you can get a auto until with a DVD player.Re: best places to go in Sept on N carolina coast magnusfide wrote: Bob_in_NC wrote: We stayed at Frisco Woods years ago and it was a non stop party until 4am. We have not been back because of this. Barb wants to go in September and it should be much quieter then. What was the date you were there, Bob? We were there during the summer. You may not have trouble in September, but I do not know for sure. When we were there, partying was tolerated and we had trouble sleeping. Let us know about your stay there after you get back home. I hope everything goes well for you.Re: best places to go in Sept on N carolina coastWe stayed at Frisco Woods years ago and it was a non stop party until 4am. Is Myrtle Beach Travel park overly crowded in the summer months?Re: Myrtle Beach Travel Park?I understand that they "close" the gates to this park roughly around midnight. Does this mean that you can not get back in after this time, or is it just a matter of security letting you in? I was thinking about this because if you go to one of the shows, and then stop for ice cream, it will be after midnight.Re: Connect RV to 20a outlet ssgwsmith wrote: Having some issues when connecting to 20a outlet. GFI on outlet trips. Could the CAMCO adapter go bad? nothing trips in trailer... am i missing something here? ok obviously missing something... suggestions? tks Let us know what happens with this ssgwsmith.Re: Connect RV to 20a outletIf the receptacle you are plugging into does not trip when you have other loads plugged into the receptacle, then the problem is in your trailer. It does not matter that your trailer has a GFCI receptacle in it as that will not cause tripping. Something is wrong. If you do not clearly see the problem I would recommend having an electrician familiar with RVs take a look at it for you. I would not use the trailer until the problem is resolved.
