It looks nice but obviously wasteful of precious and scarce counters. I think I'd have to modify that. I put the wood piecces there, they are held on with carpet tape, no holes in the counter top, the only real reason they are even there is they hold the light switch I put in to turn on a light when entering the 5th wheel, as far as taking up space, No it dose not take up that much space, really it keeps stuff from falling off of the counter, and keeps me from hitting my head on the upper cabnet when I don't put the slide out, I also like the way it looks, so I think I'll keep it as it is. Look at the link in my sig and you will see all of the mods I have made, most have a reason.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012 Fisherguy wrote: Are you guys using regular household faucets? Our Komfort has an RV faucet with the pull out head, has hardly any pressure on normal but lots when you set it to spray, what are the house ones like? They solid or cheap plastic like the RV ones? Busch, don't base your opinions of this forum based only on the likes of one person. I used a regular household faucet, I just had to put adaptors on to go from 1/2" pipe to 3/8", it took all of maybe 20 minutes to put this in.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012I just installed a new Moen kitchen faucet in the 5th wheel, the old one was leaking, and making a mess under the counter top, this new one is a pull out with spray and an off button, I really like the way it looks and works. From the back side. From the side. From the front. Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012I just finished up my window treatment. I took out all of the blinds and made curtains, I like the look better and they keep out more light and heat. Before After Before After, I also moved the curtain boxes up 3.5" for more usable windows. More on my Webshots page.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012I dry camp 99% of the time so, for the latest mod, I removed the microwave and put a door over the hole, now I have a nice place for my pots and pans, also made my own clock and put it up. The last 5 shots are new.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012I would take it to a powder coater and have them do it, they will sand blast it a coat it, and it will most likely out last your kids whan it is done.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012 kraushad wrote: I added a wall light switch to one of the overhead 12V lights -- our camper didn't have a wall switch when you entered, so I ran some lamp cord and added my own switch to make it easier to see entering/exiting after dark... nothing to write home about, but more convenient, and looks nice enough to get the coveted "Wifey seal of approval." This is where I mounted my wall switch, I think the railing add a bit more class to the 5th wheel Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012Well here is mine, wood floor and also a place for a light switch the only thing the stair balusters are for is looks and one by the door to hold the light switch, they don't hold the upper cadnet at all.Re: Dometic Refer Recall - Possible Fire Hazard -Update 2/13/07I pulled the refer/heater fuse. The refer is off and I pulled the light out, so there should be no power use. I also looked at the Dometic site and went to my refer page, on page 11 at the bottom it talks about the CC, it says if it is on, it will draw 12v all of the time and you should have a charging source to keep the batteries up, so I think I may have found my problem (I think the CC is on)I will check it out tomorrow after work and will post if that is what may be happing. Thanks again.
