All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Thor Super C (Chateau/Four Winds) improvements and modsI had some questions earlier on the Super C Four Winds, but I decided to buy the Jayco Seneca instead, and have just recently picked it up. I appreciate all your information. It was useful in making my decision and in picking up useful knowledge. Thanks, WadeRe: Thor Super C (Chateau/Four Winds) improvements and modsI appreciate the responses to my battery life question. I will not be doing a lot of boondocking, but want the capability of staying out maybe two nights without power. So I think the generator will meet my needs. (I have never had a generator with my 5th wheels). Most of the time we have power. Can anyone tell me what I should expect to actually pay for a new 2016 or 2017 FourWinds? If you have one, what did you actually pay for it? The only other RV I'm looking at is the Jayco Seneca. Anyone have any comments between the FourWinds and Seneca? I want a simple, reliable motorhome to travel this great country. I want to see it, and it's just my wife and I traveling. Thanks, WadeRe: Thor Super C (Chateau/Four Winds) improvements and modsI am about to buy a 2017 Fourwinds SuperC 35SD. It comes with two house batteries and I have heard that they do not last long running the fridge. I have heard of people using four 6 volt batteries instead of the two 12 volt batteries. I don't understand, do 6 volt batteries last longer than 12 volt batteries? Or should I just install two additional 12 volt batteries? The specs say the battery rack will hold 4 batteries. Also, I saw some on this forum talking about price - what should I expect to pay for this unit new from a dealer? Thanks, WadeRe: Kid's Address as Domicile AddressI appreciate everyone's comments and advice. You all were very helpful. We have a lot to learn. I called the Escapees and the tax office for that county, and they were both very pleasant and informative. If we didn't have kids in Texas, the Escapees sound very good. We'll probably use the kids as a mail service; after all "they owe us"! Thanks so much, Wade GriffinRe: Dahlonega, GAI appreciate everyone's comments and advice. You all were very helpful. We are buying a new Montana from a Camping World in GA in the middle of September, and will go on up to Dahlonega for several days and check it out. We'll go back later for an extended time and tour all around north GA and into western NC. We have a lot to learn, but we're willing. Thanks so much, Wade GriffinDahlonega, GADoes anyone know anything about the town of Dahlonega, GA? My wife has read some information on it and we're looking for a place in or near the Smokey Mountains to stay for a fairly extended period of time. If you have any experience with this place and the area, we would appreciate any insight from someone who has been there. Thanks, Wade GriffinKid's Address as Domicile AddressWe are residents of Texas (with a house) currently, but will sell the house and be full time RV travelers. Our son is also a Texas resident with a house. Can we just use his adddress as our address and remain Texas residents; keeping vehicles registered in Texas and travel the country? If so, this seems better than using Escapees to set up an address, etc. Does anyone know if this is legitimate and a good way of working this out? Thanks, Wade GriffinRe: Internet and TV accessThanks everyone for your information and advice. It is a bit complicated, but at least now I know what my options are, and will now just need to do some specific research getting prices, etc. Thanks very much, WadeInternet and TV accessWe will become full time RV citizens early next year, and will buy a lot in the country to live in our RV, and will spend several months of the year traveling. There is no cable access there. How should we get internet and television access while parked on our lot and while traveling. I know nothing about this now, as we live in a house and have cable for everything. Thanks for any advice, Wade
