But,this is my 4 tt with electric tongue jack over 20 years and this never happened. This isn't some new behavior of mine that suddenly appeared. 2 Atwood jacks and an ultra-fab 5500 prior to this Barker. If the other jacks had behaved this way, I wouldn't have this this **** habit. I guess this is a character builder, eh?Electric tongue Jack blows fusesNew trailer came with a Barker VIP 3500 tongue Jack. It blows the fuse (30A) when I reverse direction. If I stop and wait a moment before reversing direction, fuse doesn't blow. Other than this, the jack works fine. This is my 4th TT with an electric tongue jack but this never happened on the others. Any ideas?Re: Caulk used at factory KKELLER14K wrote: From my expierence...They use a typical butal tape underneath the flanges, usually about 3/4"wide. Then they seal the outside of the flange with Geocell clear to keep the butal from oozing out of the flange. I will tell you getting Geocell off of the flat surface is extreamly dificult. This stuff bonds beyond belive but over time you will see some seperation from the flange where the Geocell is thin. Are you worried about leaks?.. not likely IMHO but use a heavy duty plastic scraping tool, usually the blue kind and mineral spirits...be prepaired for a lot of work. Thanks for the info. There's a few spots on the seam between the fg body and the skirt where the caulk has cracked.I was hoping I could get away with cleaning the surfaces real well and caulking over existing caulk. Oh btw, I grew up in Beaverton, went to BHS back in the 70's.Caulk used at factoryAnybody know what type of caulk is typically used from the Northwood factory to seal window and vertical seams on an Arctic Fox of 2014 vintage? Just wondering how meticulous I need to be in removing existing caulk before recaulking. Thanks, DaveMaybe getting a longer trailerThinking of upgrading to a 31’ trailer from a 27 footer. TV is a GMC 2500HD cc long bed. I know longer trailers are generally easier to back up. I keep my trailer in a driveway at my house so it’s a 90 degree back in on a 30’ wide suburban street. It’s a piece of cake to back my 27 footer into the driveway. Will it be appreciably more difficult backing the 31 footer into the spot? Anybody here made a similar jump up in trailer length? Was there much difference in the towing experience? Both trailers have a 10,000 lb gvwr. Big improvement in floor plan and interior space. Thanks, DavidGM 6 liter vortec what are you towing with it?What are you towing with your 6 liter 2500hd or 3500hd? What’s the gvwr of your trailer and how’s the towing experience? I tow an Arctic Fox 25r with my 2015 2500hd 6 liter vortec. Trailer weighs about 9,000 lbs loaded. I’m happy with it’s performance and reliability for the most part. Throughout the mountain west, It’s averaging 8 mpg per 400 miles. It goes over Donner Summit in CA at 60mph towing. Handles comfortably while towing. But……… I’m considering a 30’ 5th wheel that weighs about 12,000 lbs. No doubt a diesel would handle it better. Would I be miserable towing a 12k 5’er with my 6 liter gasser?Arctic Fox 25r interior wall removal Has anyone removed the "L" shaped wood partition wall between the bed and the kitchen/living area? . This wall runs ceiling to floor approximately 2' wide (left side), then about 3' high and about 4' wide as you look to the right behind the sofa. I want to https://northwoodmfg.com/wp-content/uploads/photo-gallery/Arctic%20Fox/25R/Arctic-Fox_25R_NF_Windswept-Serenity-4.jpg?bwg=1650552047 to a regular 80" length queen mattress and the partition prevents that. Whats involved in removing that wall? Did the job turn out to your satisfaction? Thanks, David Moderator edit to re-size picture to forum recommended limit of 640px maximum width. Re: Whaddaya gonna do?OP here. Thanks for all the replies. I’ve decided to stop worrying about supply disruptions and just carry on as planned. Wondering if maybe places will be less crowded. Best, DavidWhaddaya gonna do?We have been planning our 6 week spring trip pulling the AF25R with the Chev 2500hd (6.0 gasser) from home in. CA to Utah,NM, and southern Colorado. Planning to hit the road end of March. Wow! Now I’m not so sure. >$5.00 a gallon regular gas at 8mpg. Hmmmm, I can afford it but worry about a supply disruption at the pump and getting stranded. This situation with RUS-UKR doesn’t bode well. What unintended consequences could could ensue? What are you all doing these days? Going for it anyway? Or sitting this one out?Re: Broke my hitch pin today Hannibal wrote: Do you even need a WDH with your rig? I use a Curt 2.5” ball mount on our 2020 F-250 to tow our 32.5’ Jayco 28RLS.
