My address and drivers license are Ca. My rv and tow car are both registered in South Dakota. Neither vehicle has ever been registered in Ca. I’ve been full time for 3 years and use my P.O. Box as my address. When I visit my daughter in NorCal during the summer I always worry I might get pulled over. It’s a small town and in the couple months that I’m there, you pass by the same chp quite a few times. I’m not sure what the outcome would be having SD plates and Ca drivers license? I’m thinking about settling down and I’m concerned that when I register my vehicles in Ca am I going to be charged some extra fee or tax?Re: Texarkana repair shop adviceYeah just got an alignment in Yuma in January. Another shop there told me about a conversion kit that would replace the pods. Thing is, even when the pods worked there was no noticeable change in the height of the front end. It’s the P-32 workhorse.Texarkana repair shop adviceFront end on my 2005 Winnebago sightseer class a is riding low the air pods in the front springs won’t hold air. Front end is so low I have to run with my brights on. Anyone know a good place in Texarkana to get this work done? ThanksWheel covers making noiseHi I have a Winnebago sightseer 2005. My front driver side wheel cover keeps making rubbing sounds. When I take it off no sounds. I’ve tried moving it around and reattaching sometimes it’s quiet for a bit but then it starts making noise again. I can’t figure out how it’s rubbing when it’s attached to the wheel? Anyone with this issue. Any ideas? ThanksRe: Emergency flashers25 amp electronic flashers are what’s there now. The diode kit? Isn’t that something that would of been part of the in$tallation of the wiring and baseplate?Re: Emergency flashersForgot to mention I swapped out the emergency flasher for the turn signal flasher and it works. I haven’t tried to hook up the tow vehicle to see if it blows again though.Emergency flashersJust had my car set up for flat towing. Right afterwards the emergency 4 way flashers quit working on my motor home. Would that be the 4 extra car lights that are flashing put to much of a load on the flasher ? Before I replace it is there something needed to prevent that? Thanks Joe 2005 Winnebago workhorse p32 towing A 2019 Ford Fiesta.Re: Conflicting information tow dollyLooking at everything more today I realized that the cradle pan that the tires sit in pivots. So that’s how it follows. But at the same time the car was turning also which it’s not supposed to do. With both turning like that it limits how tight of a turn can be made and would of caused the fender to crunch the door if I had done so. I found the steering tie down strap on line and a video. It’s just a Y ratchet strap that secures to the break pedal or under the seat and to the steering wheel. I’m just glad I didn’t have an issue towing it like that. And the fact that both the Ford dealer and the trailer dealer knew nothing about it? Just amazing. So I have the strap on order and staying put till I get it. Thanks for all the input. Be safe! JoeConflicting information tow dollyJust bought a 2019 Ford Fiesta and a Stehl tow dolly. The Steering wheel does not lock and it’s front wheel drive. The vehicle manual says when on a tow dolly to put it in neutral and disconnect the battery. It says nothing about the steering. The dolly manual says put the vehicle in park or gear and lock or tie off steering wheel. An explanation as to why would be nice but it doesn’t offer one. I called a Ford service department to ask if they had any advice about the steering and the guy kept telling me that the steering does lock which I know it doesn’t. So that didn’t help any. I towed it from Phoenix to Quartzsite and as far as I could tell from the camera view it did okay. But the back end of the car is turning when I turn and it looks like turning to sharp would cause the fender on the dolly to hit the door of the car. Any advice? Anyone Thanks JoeRe: getting a tow vehicleCurrently flat towing a Suzuki samurai. It’s great for the desert and around town but not so much on the interstate. I’m looking into different options including tow dolly. I looked into the acme brand I like the surge break system. My question is, can any front wheel drive, automatic transmission vehicle be towed on a dolly? The dingy guide doesn’t cover every vehicle ? Or does it only cover the ones that can be? Thanks
