I can tell you though that the general consensus at TDR is to leave the newer ones alone. Older trucks like mine, totally different story but with a 2014, they will strongly recommend not deleting anything. Also, as the newer ones are very solid to begin with, there probably isn’t much that will need to be upgraded.Re: For "Christmas Vacation" fans only ::::Don’t you go fallin’ in love with it now, because we’re taking it with us when we leave here next month.Re: Down sides to being a TT Camper? We have a 30’ TT and have frequently stayed in State Parks and National Parks where the spot is advertised as right at 30’ or slightly more and never had a problem being able to find space for the truck in the site. Sometimes I have to park the truck sideways, sometimes alongside, but it always seems to work out.Re: Un winterzing...When they say someone using air is not covered under warranty, it may be that they are referring to damage caused by winterizing with air, i.e. someone set the air compressor to 180psi and destroyed all the plumbing in the RV. I winterize with air, set my compressor to 35psi and have never had any issues. Not sure how that could/would affect the warranty.Re: Using the front Bumper to park a TT vs the Rear Bumper? The answer to your question is yes, you will definitely be able to maneuver into a tight spot that would be impossible hitched up in the normal way. It has to do with the fact that the truck’s steer axle is now near the hitch (pivot point). Picture how the vehicle moves when backing in a conventional manner - cut the wheel hard over and the rear axle only slowly begins to move laterally at first. Now imagine the trailer connected to the front of the vehicle - cut the wheel and you can very rapidly (in a short forward distance) create a sharp angle between the tow vehicle and the trailer. You can also “take out” that angle in a short distance. If you watch how aircraft are pushed back from the gate, you will see that the pushback tractor is always facing the aircraft. Granted there is a towbar connecting the tractor to the nose wheel of the aircraft, but the principle is still the same. As has been stated though, your visibility will be greatly reduced. Highly recommend a spotter!Re: Anybody use the TiVo Bolt+Thanks, I appreciate the info. I think eventually we will drop cable/sat completely as most content is available via Netflix, Amazon, Hulu plus, etc. We still like having CNN, HGTV, Discovery, TWC and some others that aren’t available OTA though. For now, going with Spectrum’s cheapest plan with a TiVo Bolt I think makes the most sense.Anybody use the TiVo Bolt+For our home TV we currently have Dish with the DVR they provide, Hopper with Sling. It was basically fine, but after a recent software update, it has been truly awful. It’s not particularly user friendly, fast forward and rewind is not consistent and it often arbitrarily chooses not to record something that is set to record even though it shows that it will record. In short, we’re paying monthly rental on something we really don’t like. I’m thinking about just buying something like the TiVo Bolt and using it with cable from Time Warner/Spectrum. I might save money too by bundling since we already have TWC as an internet provider. Just wondering if anyone here has a TiVo Bolt + and how you like it. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!Re: Trip AdvisorI saw one campground review on TripAdvisor that said, "The weather was cold and rainy the entire week." They gave it one star but mentioned they would have given it 4 stars if the weather had been nice!Gooseneck travel trailer!Camping at Vogel State Park this Thanksgiving and came across this unique travel trailer converted to a gooseneck. Just had to share. Happy Thanksgiving all! Re: multiple problems with new Forest RiverSounds like the fresh water tank and heater issues have been answered. Regarding the battery, I'd recommend you head over to the "tech issues" sub forum. You could spend all day (or all month) reading about batteries and charging. Bottom line, the single 12V group 24 battery you likely have is not really suitable for dry camping. If you want to dry camp, you need to upgrade the battery. Also, you mentioned running the generator for 6 hours! With a proper charger, you should be able to cut that to an hour or 2 at most. May want to consider solar too. Fact is, most RVs from the factory are set up to be "pedestal queens." Successful dry camping will require upgrades.
