Please post Model and Spec Code. It's a 2016 model purchased on March 16. Used a few times before this trip (had 6 hours on it) so never really sat long enough to be exercised. Update: It ran better after I set the altitude but still had some up and down of the RPM on occasion. Also, it still occasionally makes the arcing sound. It's been at Onan all week and of course, they can't find anything wrong with it. They neglected to run a diagnostic check to determine why I received the 14 and 36 fault. They plan to do this Monday so I'll post again once I hear from them.Re: Onan generator problemI changed the altitude knob as we were at 5300 feet. Now it runs ok but still hearing clicking as if it's arcing somewhere. When an electric load is put on it the engine struggles and rpm oscillates.Onan generator problemMy generator has only 23 hours. I noticed yesterday it was making a clicking/tapping sound while running. Now it starts but quits. I got a fault 14 and 36. Oil level is fine. Any ideas as to what could be wrong?Re: Class C weight issue Mich F wrote: What does the sticker in your cab say your OCCC is supposed to be? Your 4 tires in the rear are rated higher than the axle. I believe it's 1,689Re: Class C weight issue Mich F wrote: What was your total weight - how much weight on the front axle ? You're also over your rear axle weight rating by 440# as it sits now. Total weight was 14,620. GVWR is 14,500. Front axle was 4,580 so at least that is under. It's pretty ridiculous to spend over $80K on a camper that comes equipped with under-rated tires. I'm draining most of the water so I come in just at 14,500 but I'm likely going to still be a bit over-weight. This stuff just ticks me off and takes the fun out of RVing...Class C weight issueI had my Thor Chateau 31E weighed yesterday. I had a full 55 gallons of fuel and the 40 gallon fresh tank full. I also had my normal array of camp items (grill, chairs etc.) on board. The front axle weight was fine. However, the rear came in at 10,040. Considering the Michelin, E load tires can handle 2,470 pounds max, I'm overweight by 160 pounds. How can a brand new Class C be equipped with tires that can't even handle a normal load? I haven't even put clothes or food on board for our upcoming two week trip and I'm already overweight. Am I over-reacting? Any suggestions?Re: steering stabalizersI installed the Roadmaster steering stabilizer on my 2016 Chateau 31E. The difference was like night and day. The unit is worth every penny. The rig tracks much more consistently and when trucks come by, it moves much less than the factory set up. It's an easy, bolt-on install. I highly recommend.Re: Sewer hose questionThanks for the replies. The hole is threaded and has a plug for it so no worries there. Just like Dick B states, another example of the RV designers not using the rigs they design.Sewer hose questionWe just purchased a Thor Chateau 31E. In the sewer compartment, there is an access hole in the bottom for the sewer pipe to enter so that the compartment door can remain closed while camping. However, the hole is directly under the connection point/dump valves. This makes the access hole useless as a standard sewer hose will not fit. Has anyone with a 31E solved this problem? I was thinking about getting a Valterra 2' compartment hose since it has a smaller diameter but I'm still not sure it will fit.Re: Got my "G" rated tires on yesterday!!!Just my two cents - I have had Sailun's for just under two years with about 5,000 towing miles and no problems. Good upgrade after the BlowMax caused $5K damage to my camper.
