Miles in the 100k - 130k range on a E450 V10 chasis that is less than 10 years old don't bother me one bit. In fact, if there is a good maintenance record, I actually prefer that the unit has been driven and serviced regularly, instead of just sitting. But that's besides the point. I'm interested in people's opinion between these two particular units. I do appreciate the input on weight, drive-ability, and capacity. Those are things I wasn't thinking about. I just kind of figured a few feet in length wouldn't make any noticeable difference ... but the weight of the slide wasn't something I'd considered.Which one of these C's would you buy?I'm not dead set on either of these particular units, but I'd like to hear opinions on which one might be a better buy. Both are prior rental units. The first is from a smallish local dealer in my town, the other is a standard CruiseAmerica unit. Both are priced the same at $29k 1) 2008 Thor Chateau 31', E450, V-10, One slide, TV, awning etc. 101k miles. Fully serviced, runs fine, everything works, full maint. history included. 2) 2013 CruiseAmerica 28A. E450, V-10, no slide, no TV, no awning. 130k miles. Fully refurbished, runs fine, everything works, full maint. history. Basically, the trade off is .... the older coach is slightly larger, has less miles and has full amenities --- where the CA coach is rather spartan and has more miles but is five years newer. What would you pick, and why?Re: Flat towing with my Class CI wouldn't make the decision just based on weight for towing. I'm assuming you'll use the Jeep (either one) as a primary vehicle when not RVing. Since you'll spend so much time in it, get the one you like best and are most comfortable in. Neither one is all that light for towing, but then again neither one will give you much trouble either.Re: Alternatives to lack of storage spaceTrailers are great! They also double as storage for all your gear when at home. Keep your trailer loaded and organized, and getting ready to roll out on an adventure will be super easy. What to buy with $25k?My budget is $25k and I want a used E450 Class C with the V10. It will be used to haul my family of 6 on fishing trips, camping trips, and to tow four wheelers up to the mountains. Probably somewhere between 28 and 31' Rear bunks or rear twins would be ideal, but a rear queen is fine. Definitely want an over the cab bed. So, what would you buy in my shoes? Are there any must-haves that you'd look for? Maybe ducted AC/heat, basement storage, certain generator size etc? Are there things that I should give up to be in my price range?
