I did use the red handle from the original valve and the original plate. GaryRe: Slideouts come out while autolevel in operation?I had the same thing happen with my Level Up system. While lowing the front jacks to hitch up, I heard the slides move. WTH? Calls to Redwood and to my dealer ended with recommendation to bring it in and replace some valves that must have gotten debris in them. Service writer at the dealer said what I was experiencing was impossible! Lippert acknowledged the slides and jacks are all connected and it was possible. They told me how to shut off the slides while using the jacks until I could get it in for service. I did that for a month. During that time I drained and replaced the fluid. I also added some fork oil to increase the stiction. The problem went away after the fluid drain. I never took it in and it never was a problem again. It may be worth the effort. Not a lot to lose. Good Luck and let us know how it worked out. GaryRe: Portable Solar Panels connection ?Rich, good thing that I was not counting on the controller for the long run. It sells for about $8 or $9 on eBay which kinda speaks to the quality. I do have the second one that has a volt meter in it. I think I will just swap out the little one. It is also my plan to put panels on the roof and will need a good controller at that time anyway. Thanks for the heads up. GaryRe: Portable Solar Panels connection ?Thanks all for the quick responses. Golden, we will have panels on the roof eventually. Got these cheap and wanted a portable setup in addition to roof top for instances when parked in shade. So we will have both. I do have some concern about them growing legs though. Mexico, thanks for the info on the weather proof terminals. I will look into those. Thanks again to all that responded. GaryPortable Solar Panels connection ?I need some expertise on connecting two solar panels. I just bought two portable panels with a controller on the back of one. They are connected together like the top drawing with both Positives wires and both Negative wires attached to their respective terminals on the controller. It has about 10' of wire and battery clips for the output to the battery. Nothing attached to the Load terminals. When I tested the output of the Controller I got 20.1v in full sun. The seller also included another controller new in the box. He had not used any of it nor was there any documentation. So my questions are: are the two scenarios in the picture the same? I have not had enough sunlight to experiment (sitting in Tennessee waiting for the rain to pass through) and probably won't for a few more days. If the connection is correct, do I use the second controller to limit the voltage to my batteries? Or, will the controller drop the output once it is attached to the 12v batteries (I have not tried to hook them up yet). Or do I disconnect them and wire them like the bottom half of the picture? Image of the controller on the panels. Thanks for any help.Re: Little dealer little pricesJust had them do some warranty work. They were professional, timely and reasonably priced on part I had to pay for. I left a good review on Yelp. We worked with Sonya in service. I should add that we went to their northern store on Deer Valley. GaryRe: REDWOOD FIFTH WHEELI am really sorry about the OP's experience with his new Redwood. I cannot even imagine the frustration level with those kind of problems. As a Redwood owner, these stories (and I have heard them)boggle my mind. We have had exactly the opposite experience. Our 2013 36FB has been almost perfect. We have had it into the dealer a couple of times for relatively minor problems with the biggest one caused by the dealer (wrong batteries installed). The factory has been most accommodating on the phone and in person (we have been to the factory for visits twice). We have been very pleased with our decision to buy the Redwood. IUOE150, I wish you the best in your attempts to get it resolved so you might be as pleased in the future as we are now. GaryRe: My sister bought a camperOwned an earlier model for 5+ years. Loved it!! There are some groups and forums (rv.net has a good one) for Class B's. Roadtrek International is one. We got it mostly for long weekends but took some extended trips with it and it served us well. There are some who are full timing in them, but, I think that takes a lot of patience and a willingness to sacrifice more than my tolerance would allow. Sold ours and bought a 5er when we decided to prepare for full timing. Anyway, it is a great camper and she should enjoy it. GaryRe: Straight Talk Phone ServiceHere is post to a blog about cheap phones. She does a good job covering Straight Talk and how to get the network you want. I used her information to get a Samsung Smart phone on the Verizon network. It has worked great for me. http://wheelingit.wordpress.com/2013/05/12/cheap-cellphone-service-with-straight-talk-saving-severing-verizon-ties/ You might want to look her blog over carefully as she also recently posted about how she plans their routes. It was pretty interesting and I learned a few things. Gary
