We ran into construction going up Vail Pass in the summer, and came very close to over heating due to start and stop traffic. We saw a number of trailers pulled over because of overheating.Fort Wayne to Kenoshalooking for the best route from fort Wayne, IN to Kenohsa, WI. I would like to avoid as much Chicago craziness as possible. We will coming through at around 3 in the afternoon on Wednesday July 3. I I have a feeling it is going to be a nightmare whichever way I go. Thanks for you thoughts and ideas.Re: Pull Through or Back in sites? Which do you prefer. rbpru wrote: Six of one half a dozen of another. We choose the site based on shade, slope, proximity to Rest Rooms and distance to play ground. Obviously pull throughs are the easiest but after the first twenty or so back ins, it really does not make a lot of difference. good luck X2Re: California, UT, Alberta, B.C., WA, OR, back to California Lexx wrote: Two Hands wrote: You mention a bit of concern finding a place to stay in Yellowstone. Make a reservation now at Fishing Bridge RV Campground in the park or one of the rv parks in West Yellowstone. That will be one less thing to worry about. In fact, for a ambitious trip like this I would make a reservation at every place I could. Have a great trip. Ugh...Fishing Bridge has already sold out of the 40 ft sites. All the have are the 35' and shorter sites. And from what I read the sites are very tight so squeezing in a 37 foot trailer 2A 35 or smaller full site it's not going to work. We may just need to stay outside the park we stayed at lonesomehurst campground right on lake Hebgen last summer and it was perfect. Close enough to Yellowstone, but you can still get away from the crowd. Only 4 electric sites, but we booked the first day they were available (6 months out) and had no problem getting 2 sites. https://www.recreation.gov/camping/lonesomehurst-campground/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NRSO&parkId=72360 great little campgroundRe: East Glacier NP to Coeur d'Alene, IDthank yo.u for all the suggestions. looking forward to a great tripEast Glacier NP to Coeur d'Alene, IDI am looking for assistance with route planning. We will be going to Glacier NP, staying at St. Mary's campground and then continuing on to Coeur d'Alene. I am guessing the best thing to do would be to come back down us 89 to I-90 via us 200. Is this the best route? We will be going in mid June with a 27 foot Travel Trailer. Thanks for your help.Re: freezing temps on ThursdayWell, the unit is in storage, so I didn't feel comfortable leaving propane on while not occupying it. Antifreeze was a small price to pay for peace of mind.Re: freezing temps on Thursdaywell, spent a little while yesterday installing a winterizing by pass and went ahead a ran antifreeze through the trailer. Woke up this morning to snow that wasn't in the forecast.....thanks for all the advice.Re: freezing temps on Thursday IDman wrote: Kandkbrand: The forecast in my area is Thursday midnight snow begins with lows down to 23 degrees. Snow will continue all day Friday until 7:00. Temps will NOT get out of 20s. I am going to blow out my lines and leave faucets open. I will also set my furnace at lowest heat (50) as this has always worked in past. Good luck! I am in the springs, thursday high 47 low 32, friday high 46 low 30freezing temps on ThursdayI need some advice. I have de-winterized my trailer and I have used it on a couple of trips this spring. Naturally, the weather has decided to turn cold again. The overnight low on Thursday is forecast for 32 and 30 for the overnight low on Friday. Last time we camped I emptied the fresh water tank and opened the low point drains for the drive home. Am I in any danger of damaging my plumbing and what steps should I follow to minimize the risks of damage? Now I know the best thing would be to winterize it again, but I would really rather not do that. Thoughts?
