And, as someone mentioned on this post, they-re too busy traveling seeing the country. I just purchased a used Roadtrek Zion. (I had a 2004 Chevy Popular back in 2006-11 . We loved it so much that after having a Fifth wheel and a Class C, we decided to go back to a "B" for its convenience getting around just about anywhere.)Re: GM Chassis Class CNo doubt it's getting difficult to find the Chevy chassis for larger Class C's. In September of last year, we looked at Sunseekers (Forest River) class C's on a dealer's lot. The 31' models were on the Ford chassis. Our 2015 we purchased used, is a 27' model (actually almost 28') that we selected because we liked the leg room in the passenger area in the Chevy chassis and my DW won't drive the Ford. We had a Roadtrek class B years ago on the Chevy chassis that she enjoyed driving. DW says it feels just like the Roadtrek we had in the 1990's. (Happy wife, Happy life). The 4500 chassis is fully adequate. It rides nice and pulls a toad fine. We enjoy the rig a great deal. Where we live in FL now, there's a Chevy Car/RV dealer. Most Class C rigs for sale there are Chevy's which is quite convenient for maintence purposes.Re: Shortening our MIrrors? Any help out there? There's some excellent advice in this thread. I have a Sunseeker with those same seemingly wide mirrors. I wouldn't touch those mirrors. Only adjust the mirrors with the remote control. Do not swing in or out the arms of the mirrors. They extend out a certain length out from each side for a good reason -for the visibility down the sides of the MH. It takes time to get over the fear of driving a bigger rig. When I started driving the Sunseeker, an experienced MH driver taught me to "steer the wheel to put the gas pedal in the middle of the lane." At first, it didn't feel right but as did this more and more, it became second nature. Try this: Park in a regular parking space at a Walmart far away from other vehicles. Make sure you're in the middle of the parking space between the lines. Is the gas pedal in the middle? Get out and walk around the MH and make sure you're in the middle of the parking space. Get familiar with what is "middle of your MH." Practice makes perfect.Re: Florida panhandleSt. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach. We visited this park on the way to New Orleans a few months ago. Some sites are right on the water's edge of a lagoon and then on the other side of the park is a most gorgeous beach with the most white sugary fine sand I've seen anywhere.Bolts, nuts vs. cotter pin set up on roof vent covers?I recently cleaned my vent covers on my rig and noticed that my Fantastic Fan cover had a fancy cotter pin hinge set up. Quite convenient, easy to remove. But, the other vents above the bedroom and bath had bolts with a washer and split washer. Those are a PITA. One nut would not screw off the bolt. (There's always one, right?) I had to hacksaw the bolt off to get the cover off. :h Has anyone replaced all the bolts with a type of bolt with a hole and then inserted a cotter pin set up? It has to work so the cover is on securely but easy to remove when needed. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you. :)Re: Filling gas tankI agree with IAMICHABOD Before spending a lot of $$$... I had the same issue with a 2004 Roadtrek camper van. If I turned the gas pump handle at 45 degrees or so angle, it would pump the gas with no problem. Try experimenting different angles to get the best result. I found some gas stations didn't need the angle adjustment. It depends how fast the fuel was pumping. Sometimes a sharp bend in the filler hose prevents proper air ventilation and turning the pump handle can alleviate the issue. My new rig does not have this issue I'm happy to say. Best of luck.Re: Class C Campsite Photos. Show your stuff. This was taken a couple of weeks ago at St. Andrews State Reserve and Campground in Panama City. The beaches there have the finest and whitest sand I've every seen. The Campsite was right off the lagoon there. The beach was on the other side of the property. We practically had the miles of beaches to ourselves. Re: Photo Thread - Post Your PUP Pics HereHere we are at Acadia NP in Maine this month. We camped at Seawall campground inside the park. Southwest Harbor nearby has the best lobster in the country. Re: What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?Ran the Genny and all the appliances except the hot water heater of course. (furnace, stove, reefer and AC.) Started packing things to get ready for the snowbird trip south at the end of the month. Checked the air in the tires and checked the house battery. All looks good!Re: What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ? sergeant76 wrote: Joe, why are they going to NH to a RoadTrek dealer, when there is a RoadTrek dealer in Raynham, MA, both dealerships are owned by the same folks. Hi Ron. I talked to the couple again last night: The dealer has a larger inventory of models RT's on display at the NH site at this time. The couple likes to travel. :B They want to look at all options. As My Roadtrek requested, If you want to discuss this further, let's either do it by E-mail or as a new topic. Joe
