Take the weight off the back and add it to the front. I had a trailer with a factory installed cargo carrier on the rear bumper and anything besides a few lawn chairs on it would make the trailer unstable. I don't know the math but rear fulcrum weight seems to overcome tongue weight weight very easily. Too much tongue weight can be compensated with a WDH but too little has few options that don't include un-necessary weight.Re: Best $100 converter.I went with the PM3-35 because it seemed like the best deal for a little less than $100. Time will tell if it was a good choice.Re: Best $100 converter.I checked Craigslist and nothing there. I would say converter because they are usually listed as deck mounter converter or power center/w converter. Why the PM-35 vs WF 9835?Re: What do air bags do?I've wondered the same thing.Best $100 converter.I need a new converter and only have about $100 left in the budget. Because of size limitations I only have a 1 battery system. Group 29 115 Amp hr. I have 10 LED lights, Maxx Fan Deluxe, range vent hood, Dometic 110v/gas fridge, furnace and new Shurflo water pump. I have no AC appliances because we seldom camp where there is electricity. I use a 2000w generator to recharge the battery. My dead converter was a B-W 6325. The trailer is a 1987 Serro Scotty I am rebuilding. So far the 3 converters/power center I have found around $100 are the Boondocker Powermax PM3-35, WFCO 9835, and the WFCO 8735 Powercenter. Any input on which of these is good or any others I have missed?Re: Replacing water pump-PSI questionWow didn't see that pump at Northern Tool. $49 would have been an easy decision.Re: Replacing water pump-PSI questionI replaced the city water connection today and problem solved. I could maybe have fixed the old one but it was $11 for a new one. I ordered a new Sureflo pump with a 45 psi rating so next week I'll know how that works.Replacing water pump-PSI questionI have to replace the water pump in my 1987 Scotty that I am resurrecting. The pump is a Shurflo but no model number. The label is pretty unreadable but it looks like it says 10 GPM. I know that isn't right on a trailer with a 15 gal water system. Anyone know what the typical water pressure would be in a trailer of that vintage. Shurflo lists a 1 GPM pump at 30 psi and a 2.3 GPM at 50 psi. I don't want to be popping fittings off all over the trailer from too high a psi. I already get a rainbow of water from the city connection when the pump is running. I haven't had time to check yet but I assume that is from some type of bad check valve.Re: Aftermarket mirrorsI had the CIPA slip on mirrors.Re: Aftermarket mirrorsI put a pair on my 2001 Suburban. Just got back from a 2500 mile trip to Colorado and mine never moved. Got mine from Martins Auto Parts on eBay for $113 for the pair with free shipping. Came in about 4 days. I really like them better them my CIPA mirrors. I don't notice any vibration or excess wind noise. They do kind of make the Suburban look like it has Mickey Mouse ears.
