All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: ProStar, Sprinter, Ford Transit ReviewsI've owned 2 3500 Sprinter RV's. I have driven 5 different Transit vans with 3k+ lbs cargo in them. The Transit is a much better driving vehicle, and the interface between the engines and transmissions is much, much smoother than the Sprinter is. Not to mention a modern, easy to figure out dash layout and HVAC controls. All 4 people that I know that own ProMaster RVs in the gas version, just love them....Re: Diesel Sprinter downshifting to slow question ?I assume you are referring to the Sprinter diesel? Diesels without an exhaust brake don't have a whole lot of "drag" when downshifted. The brakes cannot be installed at least on the 2008 on up V6 Sprinter, or the newer 4 cyl Sprinter I'd bet because of all the emissions equipment. We haven't had any issues with either of the Sprinters we've owned in the mountains. Just run in 3rd gear, keep the rpm's below 4k, (the V6), and brake hard for short periods to keep the heat downRe: Any Winnebago factory workers lurking? To the OP, your expectations are unrealistic for the price you are paying for your unit. Even the $150k+ units have issues when they roll out. More so in fact. Look at all the issues you see on Roadtreks and Airstream class B's that people have recently been posting on their forums. We know a lot of folks that have boo koo issues with their new RV's, 2 of which had to go back to the factory, be completely disassembled, and started over again from scratch, (neither of which were WGO units) It's the RV industry as a whole, not just WGO...... Edit: incidentally, the guy that had the 2009 ERA Dodge Sprinter with all the issues? Most of those were dealer caused items. Admittedly the pre 2012 ERA, the '09's and '10's were not up to the standards they should have been. That's the main reason WGO stopped for one year at 2011, fixed the main issues and materials, and resumed with the 3500 chassis in 2012 with the 70X, then the 70A & C were added. The current take rate on these models is overwhelmingly in the favor of the 70A, like 70+%, with the X & C taking up the rest of the numbersRe: Oil in propane regulator? IAMICHABOD wrote: Yes I have had that problem with it and I was told that it is normal now to have some oil in the propane lines, and to use THIS Some say it is the propane and others say it is from the line. So I assume that this goes between the tank and the regulator? How long is it lasting in your application?Re: Oil in propane regulator?Yes, same problem on our current RV, except after 2.5 years, I'm on my 4th regulator. The first was the excess oil problem. Second & third were just blown somehow not oil related. However I think the tank gauge on our tank is off. So now I'm not filling it more than 3/4 full, and that seems to be the trick so far. As far as the oil issue, a good supplier can direct you to someplace that can clean out your tank. I didn't do that, and so far all is well as far as the oil is concernedRe: RV Warranty Work Anti-RantWow, $116.00 for 7/8 of a quart of oil, and 20-25 minutes time? I'll do it myself even if it is a b***h to do on the ERA genset. I believe once you get your small issue items taken care of, you'll be happy with your coach. Remember, it's a house on wheels, so stuff will vibrate loose and break, so expect regular upkeep & tool time to be part of your regimen. Have you found, or know of a good Sprinter dealer to do your chassis service work? Do not!! let McClain do your Sprinter chassis service A & B. Specific oils and fluids are required for the Sprinter to maintain it's warrantyRe: New Winnebago ViewI'll have to disagree with the OP on the handling/stability of the View class C vs the ERA class B. We've had both, and the ERA w/30k miles we've put on it feels like a sports car compared to the Navion (same as View) that we put 20k miles on. The ERA is right at 1200 lbs lighter than the View/Navion. The only thing we miss about the Navion is the bathroom size. The ERA has even more inside storage than the Navion floor plan we had (IQ)Re: Group 27 batteryFull River = China....naa, I'll passRe: Pleasureway PursuitBill, there's a PW Yahoo group that used to be very active. Dunno anymore as we don't have a PWRe: New Fiat Ducato 2015 Class B MotorhomeBoy that new front end sure makes a world of difference in the look.....
