Rather than cut some of them completely off, they allow the voltage to fall, which reduces the current draw. When voltage drops current draw or (amps) goes up not down.Re: exploding tire JIMNLIN wrote: RR24 wrote: Had a 4 year old Chinese ST tire explode today "hi run" messed up trailer some but shouldn't be to hard to repair. These tires had less than 7500 miles total. What are the choices in a 15 inch tire if not ST's? Much depend on if you need a C/D or a E 15" tire as their isn't much of a selection in 15" non ST tires. There are several brands of LT235/75-15 C at 1980 lbs capacity. Goodyear Wrangler HT in a LT215/75-15 D load range at 2095 lbs. Maxxis has a commercial U-168 Bravo in a few 15" LT up to 2337 lb load D tire. A all position Vanco 2 in a few 15" sizes up to 2470 lb D tire. Yokohama has a RY 215 for commercial operation in a 700R 15 D tire at 2040 lbs capacity. Your wheels need to handle the pressure rating of the tire your going to use and have proper clearance . The ones on it now are 225/75/15 LR-DRe: exploding tireHad a 4 year old Chinese ST tire explode today "hi run" messed up trailer some but shouldn't be to hard to repair.
