All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Denver CO to Destin FLThanks everyone for your suggestions, Thom02099, One route I was looking at was along the Cimarron Turnpike route, but could not find RV related information about it. Got on a turnpike somewhere one time (wish I would have made note) that I was not impressed with so thanks for the suggestion. Issac-1, I have routed a similar path as you suggested in the past and it's a solid option. When I mapped it out today it was about 100 miles shorter than over and down through OK. Shorter is better..... RPreeb, Amarillo has been along my routes before that were similar to what Issac-1's suggesting azdryheat I usually use google maps too. Trying to use Streets Atlas to put multiple routes on one map to get a big picture for regrouping along the way. Heard it could be done but have not succeeded in doing it. Just last May, I could not take another RV "park" after 2 nights and veered off route to stay at a State Park with trees and space Gotta play the best weather path to leave when I have to leave to get to where I gotta get to when I gotta there...I'm sure you all know what I mean. Not my favorite way to travel. At least I will be heading east with the fronts rather than into them like in the summer. I'll do..da.. back to CO on the return route. Thanks again,Denver CO to Destin FLWhat is the best route from Denver to Destin FL in 4 days. Also recommendations for safe places along the way just to plug in and sleep, would be appreciated. I usually stop at Wilson Lake off I70 in KS the 1st night when heading east, but a good lower route can be considered. Thanks in advance for your input....Multi route trip plannerI will be traveling during a time of year when the weather may be "iffy" in the areas I will be traveling through. I would like to be able to, on the fly, reroute myself based on weather conditions (i.e. take the fast mountain pass route if it's not snowing, take the flat land route if it is). I would like to prepare a map, either on paper or for an android device used offline, that will allow me to: - show at least 3 routes - record camping areas along each route - record contact information for those camping areas Can anyone recommend a windows program or android app that would allow me to do that?Re: Sway bar or Sway Bar & Weight Distribution HitchI got the Equal-i-zer 4 point system and the Winnebego Micro Minnie 1706FB too :) I'm a happy camper........ Pulled well, mirrors are something I may want to improve on and I need to find a place to haul my Honda 2000 generator. I may try the basement, but I'm concerned on whether this will add too much weight in there and to the tongue. Aww, RVing always something to "figure". Is this why we like it so much? The challenge?Re: Micro-hotel on wheels?Since Sept '15, I've pondered many makes and models, even thought my RVing days were up. Couldn't find the right fit. A trip in May, one leg of which consisted of a four day drive with 3 hotel room stays in a row, made me realize this was not the way I want to travel. I started looking again, pondered a Lance 1475 (couldn't get the price right), and finally found my hotel on wheels: Winnebago Micro Minnie 1706FB I feel whole again.......... :) Meet "peu de blue" (my 5er was bleaux waters): Re: Sway bar or Sway Bar & Weight Distribution HitchWow, thanks for the quick helpful replies. I use to use a distribution hitch when I pulled a heavy boat with a 1500 suburban. Way heavy boat, not so heavy tow vehicle. I somewhat get the physics of the distribution hitch, it's a woman thing ??, but having to deal with one again was not something I was looking forward to. Hopefully they are easier to use now. The trailer is a 2017 1706fb micro minnie. My hotel on wheels. I don't think the dealer sales blue ox, but I'll look into it. Thanks again.Sway bar or Sway Bar & Weight Distribution HitchI have a 2015 GMC Yukon with Max trailering package, rear axle 3.42 ratio, trailer brake controller, max trailer weight rating of 8300#. Online it says the Yukon weighs between 5308 to 5746 lbs. Picking up a 20', UVW 3180, GVWR 5500 travel trailer Tuesday. I was going to get an equal-i-zer sway bar and am being told I should get a 6000 # equal-i-zer anti-sway control and weight distribution system. This is way beyound my knowledge level Any guidance would be appreciated.Single axle Travel Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring SystemWhat TPMS do you use for your single axle trailer? Experiece with any you didn't like?Re: Micro-hotel on wheels?stpauligirlmn, I will check out the Taylor Coach. djsamuel, thanks for the livinlite.proboards.com link, I'll check it out. paulandre, I may have to look at the 13QBB again, if the 11fk doesn't meet my needs. I want to see how small I can live with. randallb, I see myself putting about 6-7k mi on the trailer a year. I see you share my sentiments for wanting a rolling hotel room. Destination hotels are one thing but you can't beat having your own rolling hotel room for capricious wandering about. The continuity and ease of your own acceptable space when and where you want it, the ability to open the windows and feel and smell open space and nature. Oh.....I miss it... Thanks all, I'll see what Scamp and Oliver offers also. I have found a Camplite 11fk not too far away and I'm going to look at it tomorrow. I need to see and be in one to figure out where to go from here. Being that the llfk box is only 7Wx11L, there's only one way to go if it doesn't meet my needs. Bigger......Re: Micro-hotel on wheels?profdant193, I don't see anything smaller than an 18' model on the cruiser rv site. Am I looking at the wrong manufacturer? I love your blog and look forward to many hours of looking at your ideas and mods. One caught my eye, winching the trailer up beside the fence. Do you ever get out of your shop? :)
