Sometimes you just have to put your foot down and quit being so wishy washy, or looking at the grass on the other side of the fence. I was thinking if we could "get out" for a few grand, it might be worth it. But I'm not taking a 10k hit on something we will have paid off in a few years anyways. I do like traveling, and feel that we would regret getting rid of it if we did. Thanks for the up front advice everyone. Camp on!Looking to sell - any advice? The wife and I purchased a new 2019 RV last year, and are having second thoughts on our future plans. We bought a used 2010 Kodiak, loved it so much we wanted something a little "nicer". Well, now she wants something more along the lines of a cabin. Being a 2019 - what kind of loss can we expect? Are we better off trying to sell it 3rd party (has an extended warranty), or should we look at just selling it back to the dealer and paying off whatever losses we'd have out of pocket? Is this a "hang onto it for 3-5 years" and we might not be quite so upside down? Or is there an odd "its still new" time that we can sell it and only lose a couple grand? FYI, we've got 32k invested into it after warranty, TTL, out the door pricing.Re: Can’t figure out this switch....Bingo - I’ve got underbody lights on the step side. Are those generally on both sides? Or is it normal to just have them on the one side (ala step light purpose)Re: Can’t figure out this switch....I’ll check that out - my awning strip is powered via remote, or on the actual control panel. Your idea almost makes me wonder if I have underbelly lighting in this thing. Can’t figure out this switch....I picked up a 2019 Salem 27rkss this spring, and have used it a few times now. I just now noticed that there is a switch just inside the main entry door, and it’s like 6-8 inches off the floor. Never saw it before since it’s behind my recliner (wife’s not here at the moment so I stole her spot) When I switch it, I can tell it’s doing something as the lights flicker like it’s a pretty solid load somewhere. Any idea what this could even be? It’s a standard switch, just like the rest of the lights in the camper. It’s been in the off position this whole time, and I haven’t found anything not working. Driving me nuts!Re: TV Mount QuestionsAwesome. Thanks for the replies all. I do like the thought of the bar style mount (not to mention cheaper). My only concern about taking the TV off for traveling was where to put it (I'd hate for it to slide off the bed). I'm sure I can get creative though and find a storage solution. I guess everything will make sense once I actually get in the camper and start putting things together. I just picked it up on Tuesday (its a 2019). Hoping to get some yard work done, as well as getting things packed back up this weekend.Re: TV Mount QuestionsSounds good - I'll have to make a trip to camping world I think. While it might be cheaper to get the stuff online, I have a feeling a walk through the store might be beneficial to put some ideas together. I never thought about using a spacer - I would have just put a 12x12 up with some substance and screwed into that. But after reading your response - I almost wonder if I'm better off getting the longer "bar style" mounting brackets instead of the ones that are 2 inches wide and 6 inches tall (single arm style).TV Mount QuestionsSo I finally took delivery of my Salem 27RKSS this week, and have a few things needed to get it ready for our trip next weekend. I've been reading about mounting TV's, and it all seems pretty straight forward. Find the sticker, check for backer, and mount. My main question, is this one is set up for a 42" TV in the living room, and I will mount a smaller one in the bedroom. I have not attempted to peek inside of the walls to see what kind of backer is actually used in my trailer (I've heard anything from 1/4" to 2" thickness). Is there a standard for a weight I should be trying to stay under? I will be going LCD to help with that aspect, but mounting a 19" TV is quite a bit different then a 42" if we are talking about 1/4" thick walls. Do I just trust the manufacturer and mount away? Should I install my own backer board (not even sure how you would even get 'into' the walls to do this), or should I consider mounting an external backer to the actual studs in the walls? I just don't want to mess something up in my new camper! As long as I'm asking - whats the general rule for traveling? TV's removed? I was planning on getting locking mounts - but would like to leave the TV mounted if possible. Thanks for you help, and here's a picture! By the way, when did they do away with the whole model number/length correlation? My old camper was a 24RB (and actually 24 feet). This one I thought was 3 feet longer... boy was I wrong. Its actually 12 feet longer and now won't fit in my designated parking spot I had. Re: Transport refused trailer from factory? No pictures yet - picking it up on the 2nd. Spring had sprung finally! Just moved into a new house in November, so I've been itching to get out and start working on stuff. Heading up to Burlington Bay for our maiden voyage. Up in Two Harbors if you've not familiar. Pictures to come I due time.Re: Transport refused trailer from factory?Well, it looks like I got anxious a day early (although, if I didn't raise a flag - I don't know that they would have jumped through hoops that fast). This was actually Coates that I've been dealing with. Sounds like there was an issue with the actual side panel of the trailer, not just the sticker. The factory replaced the panel, and it will actually be there tomorrow. I have an appointment on Tuesday to go and pick it up. So barring no further setbacks - the only real complaint that I have was the lack of communication. Sounds like the delay was for the best. I did place a call (and email) with Forest River (Salem) but have not heard back yet. They say it can take up to 48 hours, and I expect they probably would have had to do a little digging to figure out which one was mine. Thanks everyone for ideas - Here's to hoping everything works out!
