I prefer the full flush flow.Fruit flies in the black tankThis past year we lived full time in the class A and every 3-4 months would get a fruit fly infestation in the black water tank, that extended into the grey tank and even into the refrigerator condensate drain. When stepping on the toilet flush valve, invariably a couple flies would arise. EEEEEWH. They seemed to like the normal chemical toilet treatments, Malathion treatments slowed them down. Permethrin treatment worked pretty good, yet needed to be redone every 4 days or so for 2 weeks to kill off the egg hatches. Perm. was administered to sink drains, shower drains, toilet and Refrigerator condensate drain. This was never experienced the 5 years we rved 25% of the time. Maybe its a coastal thing.Live full time in a 30 foot class A for a yearLast August our house was blown down by Hurricane Harvey. We had evacuated vehicles motor home and boat 60 miles south to Kingsville Texas with minimum clothes and supplies. We began a years livin in the class a MH located a block away in Palm Harbor RV park from our house All recreational vehicles that had not been evacuated were turned over, some several times. Previous years we had taken trips 4-5 times a year that amounted to about a 25 % occupancy. Permanent live in status was very different from traveling. Each morning we wake up and the scenery had not changed. After the second month the 300 sq feet got very small. BBQ 3-4 times a week cooking outside, washing clothes at a friends house, storing stuff under the motor home etc. We even bought a small freezer stored on the ground near the rear wheel well. Hot water, anytime, was sorely missed. Back seat of my truck was dedicated to tool storage. A lot of folks in the community have utilized rv's for temporary housing during rebuilding and the consensus is this type of full timing is stressfull. Families have to be strong starting out. Good news is Rockport is back fully functioning and should have a great winter rv seasonRe: Wondering about impact of Harvey and IrmaIts very hard to find relevancy in quotations about Zorba the Greek when the first need of travelers is good information to act on. A recommendation posted about the return of a large 300 unit rv park at Aransas Pass, needs to be tempered with yesterdays statement by the mayor of Port Aransas that 75 % of Port A businesses were outright destroyed or severely damaged to inhibit operation.Georgetown body trimHurricane Harvey knocked down our house in Rockport and the good news I had just finished upgrading seats sofa awning batteries etc and we have a pretty good 320 sq foot house to live in. Its a 30 foot Georgetown 2011. My issue is the storm chewed up the trim at bottom of door just above the retractable stairs. It looks very generic and does any one have a source for this type of trim. My internet is through a cellphone and operates at 20% capacity, so a directed search would be helpful. Thanks a bunch..Re: Wondering about impact of Harvey and IrmaSpent two years and hurricane Hugo in Puerto Rico. An Rv there is just a yatch with a prop. Absurdity this weekend in rockport within sight of the lines of hundreds of people waiting on temp med assistance, FEMA assistance Red Cross assistance and food stamps is the city sponsored carnival called sea fair with loads of circus rides to take relief dollars from the poor. The relief area is in the old HEB parking lot because most city county buildings are red or yellow taggedRe: Wondering about impact of Harvey and Irma37 percent of businesses and dwelling were deystroyed in aransas county, rockport. The hurdle towards achieving normalcy is disposal of the huge piles of trees and wreckage lining all roads. The county,FEMA has not put out a definitive schedule for removal and based on the first six weeks of progress it will take 6 to9 months. The movie theatre is shut for good, restrarant startups are using tents and temp kitchens. Construction workers for commercial and residential repairs are in temp quarters. The county was hit very hard and will be disfunctional for quite a whileRe: I'd like your opinionFind yourself a state campground about 100 miles away and take a 4 day camping trip to it . That should id all the predeparture fixs you should reasonably make before your big trip.Re: Plugging into 110Use of an extension cord works.I have stayed for weeks on one for 1 unit ac and battery charger. But .... the length of the cord does have voltage drop,I use a yellow #12 contractor cord. Even with that the plugs will be limiting do heat build up. Install the higher amp plugs to manage heatRe: Why run toad engine at every fuel stop?start it every 8 hours, how do you schedule it for the evening and midnight shift
