Called the distributor (I think), they told me a new board would be around $350 and there was no value in the old one. So I decided to take a chance on being able to fix mine. Determined the relays are Omron G8P-1A4P 12 30A 240v SPST so I ordered 4 of them ($5 each). I bypassed the EMS for the front AC, this will keep it going until I can get the EMS card fixed or replaced.Re: intellitec EMS controllerWe did have a few power bumps the other day. I will try tapping the relay to see if it is stuck. It sounds like there are no issues with just connecting direct to the breaker. Once I do that with critical circuits I will remove the card and troubleshoot. Hope it's just relays. Do I need to turn off the EMS system before removing the card? I assume the only way to do that is turn off house 12v power. Thanksintellitec EMS controllerI found my front AC unit not working. The Dometic error code was E7 (120 power loss). Removed the circuit breaker panel cover and found the power was going into the EMS controller Model 760 but was not coming back out. I was on 50a circuit and all the other EMS circuits are working. I am assuming the K1 relay or the driver are bad on the controller. I always keep AC running in the camper (Florida). So here is my question; for temporary purposes is there any reason I can't move the feed to my AC unit from the EMS board to the circuit breaker and get the front AC going again. My plan is to pull the EMS board and troubleshoot the relay and driver. I am sure one of them is bad. I would rather do that for around $20 then pay $400 for a new board.Re: Macerator QuestionI am with WTD44, the bypass always plugged up causing the gray tank to fill up so you have to constantly check the tank levels. The thing is noise so everyone knows what you are doing. I am sure it bothers the next door neighbors. If someone uses too much TP it will plug the thing up stopping the motor, now you have big problems (get the bucked and gloves it's going to get messy). I finely removed mine to make room for other stuff. It's in the barn so if I ever sell the rig I can put it back on. Never had much trouble with the 3" hose. I know some of you have special conditions that may require it but in 25+ years of camping the 3" hose worked fine for me.Re: RV vs Truck tires.I replaced my GY with Toyo's several years ago and have been very happy. The Toyo's came with e-balance, a liquid that keeps them balanced at any speed. The ride is awesome. My research in the difference between truck tires and rv tires indicated there were many different truck type tires depending on how they were going to be used. City tires maybe harder to handle bumping curbs while over the road would be a softer tire but give a smother ride. It was mind blowing to see all the variations. The big difference I found is RV tires have something in them to help resist dry rotting. They could sit longer without experiencing this condition. Driving a tire gets it hot and does something to help resist this dry rot issue. So I make sure I drive mine every few weeks and keep them covered. Hope it works will let you know in about 5+ years.Re: Switching from inverter to genertorI don't worry about it. In fact I have to run my inverter when running the AC's on a not too hot day. The problem is the AC's will not turn on for a long time and the generator will idol down, all electronics working ok. When one of the AC's turns on the voltage drops while the engine in the generator speeds up to carry the load. This voltage drop causes the electronics (DVR, TV, Satellite receiver...) to mess up. With the inverter on it switches on and picked up the load until the generator catches up with the load.Re: Trouble with backup cameraHad the same kind of problem with my coach. Found it was in the connection between the cable than ran the length of the coach and the one that goes to the camera. It's a bad design allowing the connection to fail inside the connector. Could not locate a replacement connector so I just solder spliced the wires together, removing the connector all together. Only took a few minutes and have not had a problem since. If I ever replace the camera I will either try to get a connector or just hard wire it in as well. To find the connector you must remove the camera, the extra cable is just hanging there.Re: AC unitsInstalled the duo-therm Brisk air II's last week. We went camping friday through the holiday and a few extra days. The new AC units worked wonders. They had no problem keeping the coach at 71 degs in the hot Florida sun this weekend. I have noticed but did not measure the air flow is much grater than with the old units. Camping this summer will be much more enjoyable.Re: Tire TimeI purchased Toyo's I think two years ago and they have been great. The dealer used e-balance fluid so they are always balanced at any speed. The coach rides like you are on air. On a good road there is no vibration. When my truck needs tires I am going to use Toyo's .Re: Class A diesel RV surveyor, Orlando, FL.I used: AutoSpector Tony Gonzalez 1 800 439 8936 info@autospector.com www.autospector.com Back in 2011, He did a good job going through everything.
