It seems that is going to limit what underpasses I can go under, plus present a danger in wind. How do people handle these two things? And....I will have to develop skill in loading the thing. I assume that just takes as many tries as it takes to get a procedure going that guarantees proper alignment. Is a backup camera a huge help? I was going to get one anyway just to see behind me.Re: Camping in TC off truckThanks. I know the one I'm planning to get is stable because I've been in an identical one on the sales lot. It's a Camplite, which is all metal and far from rickety. Interesting that some places won't let you off load. I suppose not asking may be the best policy at times....planning a trip to the East coast (I'm in the desert SW) next summer and if they dont' know what a TC is they just might think Oh How Neat.Camping in TC off truckMy planned trip for next summer involves week long stays at various places. What I want to do is take the TC off the truck, lower the jacks all the way, and use it that way, leaving the truck available for going and doing stuff. Is this a common practice? Do-able as long as I'm competent to load and off load the TC? I saw the post about the new Torklift anti-wobble device that also functions as an anti-theft device, and found that an excellent idea.Re: Rock stable on jacks now with another wonderful Torklift toyPerfect timing. I was just wondering how to secure my TC at a campground so I can take the truck daily a few miles away to a conference. Of course nothing is bullet proof but this looks great. I need to leave it off truck for a week, and this sure seems to fit the ticket.Re: Hair ? in drainI bought some enzyme stuff today. I left the valve closed for one shower, and then went and opened it to see the flow out of the tank. The flow out of the tank was only a trickle so the problem is more widespread (black tank comes out full bore.) I am chemically sensitive so have to be very careful what I expose myself to in terms of vapors; so after tonight's shower gets done draining as much as it can, I'm going to close the valve and put this quart of stuff down there and let it sit overnight, to see if it eats through the clog. If that doesn't work I'll try more forceful means. Thanks for the suggestions.Hair ? in drainI am having trouble with the drain in my shower. I have pulled gobs of hair out, and the snake now goes down more than a foot and comes up empty. However it still drains slowly and I do not know what to do next. I assume that putting Draino or similar things down there is not advisable. Will I have to pull the gray water tank to get at this? The tank is always run open, and only fills up when I forget to open the valve after emptying the black water tank. The trailer is a 2012 Camplite 16DB, lived in full time for three years. I'm not having any problems with the black water tank.portable antenna reviews?I've been trying to find recent reviews of portable antennas but can't seem to find any. I like Dish's ability to have no-contract service. For the last few years I've been moving every six months between two locations, and I'd like something that has a self-align feature that I can just pick up and take with me. I'm in all kinds of weather, heavy rain and heavy wind, even below freezing at times, sometimes in intense heat (100+ degrees with desert sun strength.) I'd like it to work without major fiddling (just hook it up) and also be secure-able because either of my locations it could walk off. I don't want to have to put it inside every time I go to the grocery. Cost is also an issue, and I only have one TV and to date have only watched over-the-air channels. Is there a thread somewhere with this discussion, that I didn't find with a search? Thanks.Re: TC newbie; where to get basic info?Thank you all. I have now unsubscribed from the thread. I appreciate all the responses.Re: TC newbie; where to get basic info? Thanks. I need one that does not have *any* wood in it, and I have been successful at avoiding mold with my Camplite.Re: TC newbie; where to get basic info? Thanks, Kohldad. In general I will be parking in friends' driveways who have wanted me to visit for years but we could not find a way because I can't spend much time in most buildings. Obviously parking a TT in a lot of driveways is not going to work, and being able to take the TC off the truck when necessary would be useful.
