Maybe Lake George, definitely Cape Cod and Nauset Beach. Hopefully there will be more sand and less ocean this summer. Last year our first night on the beach we woke up to 6 inches of ocean under our tires at 3 AM. There was a storm out at sea and a new moon. Huge waves and extra high tides!Time for a new truckOur GMC 2500 has seen too much ocean salt. Ford or Chevy? Diesel or gas? We have a 2009 Lance 815 and plan on towing a Jeep Wrangler. I don't want a dually, they are difficult on the beach. What are your thoughts?Re: the one feature of my TC that I really hateMine is the locks on the outside storage and electric. I was thinking of glueing some spare keys in them!Re: Cold vs. hot tire pressureWhen driving on the beach we lower the tires to 25 and 30 psi. As they warm up I can feel them spinning. Rather than adjusting the pressure, we'll stop and hang out while they cool. It takes a long time to drive 7 miles that way!Re: Refrig light 2oldman wrote: Your light switch has gone into SFR, or, Sudden Functionality Reversal. Have you changed out your batteries recently? That can cause it. That means the light is now on when the door is closed, and off when you open it. You can verify this by drilling a hole in the refer door and having a peek inside. You can also check this by putting your cell phone in video recording mode and leaving it in the fridge. Don't leave it in there too long though because your cell service will slow down when it thinks it's winter.Re: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?Took it to Bondi's Island (sounds like a nice place to take a truck camper doesn't it?) There's a sewage treatment plant there where you can dump the RV for $1. That was our Lance 815's maiden voyage! :)Re: Short or Long bedI purchased a 2009 Lance 815. The last year it was made. So far it looks great in the driveway, now I just need to summerize my truck!Re: Short or Long bed 12V Cummins wrote: Truck camper warehouse is saying they will have 15 truck campers in springfield! Nice!Re: Airing down?We drop the rears to 25 and the front to 20 but after 1/2 of driving (back in the days that Nauset was 9 miles long) the tires got hot, pressure went up. We had to lower the pressure more or wait for them to cool. Sometimes the wait on the beach isn't a bad thing!
