If indeed it means truly hard core trails then probably a lifted wrangler is best. But If you want a vehicle that has a lot of comfort and convenience plus the latest tech features and will take you on typical forest trails other than something like the Rubicon trail then the Cherokee will fit the bill.Re: Leaking RV Water FaucetI keep a few hose washers in my RV. Like others said, they do wear out.Re: Anyone have problems parking their class B in their DrivewayWell my Class B Pleasure Way is always parked in my driveway when not in use. Never had a problem. But of course I don't have a HOA. Not having an HOA has some advantages like being able to park my B in my driveway, but as a disadvantage, some of the houses are not well kept up. So it's all a compromise and what is important to you.Re: Jeep or CRV - the search for a toad continuesIf you got a Cherokee, you would need the Active Drive Two option to tow it flat. That option is available on the Latitude and Limited. It comes with the other items I mentioned previously in this thread. The Trailhawk comes with the Active Drive Lock 4x4 drive system which gives you a locking rear end for a little more 4x4 capability than Active Drive Two which does not have the locking rear end. If you're into really rock crawling and rougher off roading then the Active Drive Lock system is what you want. If your off roading consists of dirt, gravel, or pot hole forest roads, then Active Drive Two will probably be all you need.Re: Jeep or CRV - the search for a toad continuesIf you buy without checking out the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, you would be making a big mistake. As the owner of one I would say it isn't what many people think if as a "typical Jeep". It has a sporty great ride and all the latest technology and comforts, but also the capability to take you anywhere.Re: Jeep or CRV - the search for a toad continuesI own a 2014 Jeep Cherokee (not the Grand Cherokee). It is a great vehicle. If you need one that can be towed flat you would need to get the option that I got. The Cherokee has various four wheel drive systems. The four wheel drive system you would need is called Active Drive Two. The Cherokee with Active Drive Two has an off road suspension, higher ground clearance, select terrain for various conditions (snow, sand, mud, and sport), and hill descent control. It has a neutral button for towing. Normally you leave the select terrain dial in the auto mode for general driving. The inside has the latest amenities and appears like a luxury car. Go to the Jeep website and check it out. There are too many features for me to describe here. We love ours, and no I don't work for Jeep. Had mine for about four months now. No problems at all except I did have to take it in to have the software updated on the nine speed transmission. There were two technical service bulletins put out by Chrysler for the transmission because owners were having some harsh shifting but since I had the TSBs done, no issues at all. Anyway take a look at it. I think you'll find it is a highly capable vehicle and one that you can enjoy on and off road.Re: More Onan 2.8KW questions - carburetor backbencher wrote: Local RV dealer (not Roadtrek) says the carburetor is a sealed 50 state unit from Onan, and they can't even spray carburetor cleaner in it. All they can do is replace it, which after 3 hours of labor to drop & reinstall the generator, comes to nigh on $1K. backbencher, I have an Onan 2800 on my 09 Pleasure Way and I had to have the carburetor replaced. A local RV parts/repair shop charged me $432 to replace the carburetor and change the oil. You price of about $1000 is very high to replace the carburetor.Re: Questions on Lasko 1500 watt heaterI wanted to mention that the Lasko has a thermostat and oscillates.Re: Good bye RockySorry for your loss of Rocky. To quote a saying "Our animal friends may leave us all too soon....but their footprints will dance gently in our hearts forever". Sounds like you and Rocky had a great life together and may the memories of that brighten your days.Questions on Lasko 1500 watt heaterI just bought a Lasko 1500 watt ceramic heater model 5409 to use in my Pleasure Way Excel. I plan on using the RV propane heater to get the cabin up to comfortable temps in the evening and then at bedtime turning off the propane heater and using the Lasko to keep the cabin comfortable during sleep time. This is a 120 volt AC 12.5 amp heater. I have not opened the box yet and I was wondering if any one has any experience with this heater using it during the nighttime instead of the loud propane heater in the RV. Any thoughts or comments? Will it keep the RV at a comfortable temp while sleeping? The RV is a 30 amp RV and at night I would not be running any other electrical appliances while sleeping so I wouldn't think it would blow any circuit breakers. Thoughts? Comments? Thanks.
