I will NOT run 4 year old tires ever again.Especially in the summer. Too many stories like the one above , its not worth taking the risk. I probably have 10,000 on these factory tires. A good set before a BIG trip seems like the money well spent.New tires helpHello everyone. First off let me just start for taking the time to say thank you. Every time I have a question I receive replies. Ok the family and I are making a trip to Yellowstone this summer from Ohio. My tow vehicle is a 2016 silveraldo gasser 2500, equilizer hitch and 2015 jayco 26bh (5000 lbs dry ) with original factory tires. They have already gotten me to maine , myrtle beach and too many shorter trips to count. Needless to say im probably lucky I haven't had a problem yet. I have done alot of reading but am still pretty confused on which ones to buy. I often hit 65 mph when there is little wind and no traffic so i think the st tires are out. Im not worried about saving a hundred or two I want good safe tires for myself and my family. I would love to hear what you would buy in my place. ThanksRe: Northeast ohio to YellowstoneThank you everyone for taking the time to post a response. I sill haven't figured out the return trip completely. I will repost as soon As i do. I know the time isn't ideal but unfortunately I'll never have a better time. The company i work for is on the verge of closing or relocating the rest of the jobs to Mexico. If or when it closes ill have to start over at vacation time . I will actually have 21 days off but trying to be there and back in 19 just to have a couple days to relax when i get home or a day or to extra in case something goes wrong / breakdowns. My kids are 9 and 12 years old. The time is now and god willing it will happen this summer. Do you think i will be ok if i try to book the campsites in December ? I hate to book everything until i figure it all out ? Or should i at least book fishing bridge now .... it seems like that is the one that everyone says books fast. Also the chuck wagon show looks great ! On are list now . Is there anyone that would recommend a campground in gt Jackson hole area. Seems like reviews are mixed in that area. I really would like to reserve ahead of time and most of them do not take advanced reservations. Thanks youRe: Northeast ohio to YellowstoneOk thanks everyone i will definitely rethink this and probably do the trip in reverse. I don't think i want to be in Sturgis with two young kids that week. It just seems like a long way home through Nebraska without no interesting places to stop. Grand tetons to ohio .... is there anything to see /stop for the break up all that driving along interstate 80Northeast ohio to YellowstoneHello everyone me and my family are planning a trip to Yellowstone next summer. We plan on leaving july 19 and returning august 6. 19 days I am thinking of driving 19,20 and arriving in the grand tetons the afternoon of the 21 via interstate 80. Spend 3 nights there and then head to west Yellowstone for the 24,25 and 26. After that fishing bridge for the 27,28 and 29. We plan in going out the east entrance to cody and spending the 30 and 31 there . On morning of august 1 head towards rapid city area for 3 nights. August 4 head towards ohio via 90. Any and all criticism welcomed. I know the drive out will not be fun and have know idea where overnight stops will be. Also is it ok with with a travel trailer out the east entrance of Yellowstone to cody. We have a 2016 Silverado 2500 gasser and a jayco 26bh which is 5000lbs empty. Thank youRe: Jayco 28bhbe or 29bhdbDoes everyone believe my truck can handle these campers comfortably? I have an equalizer hitch already that I will be keeping.Re: Jayco 28bhbe or 29bhdbThank you everyone we also agree that we do not like the second 1/2 bath. I would be much happier withthe floor plan if it was a closet or small over under washer dryer in that space with some shelving. Again i am not aware of any mid to large size campers with a washer dryer. That would've also opened the bunks up a little.Re: Jayco 28bhbe or 29bhdbYes i have been in both the 29bhdb the door is in the middle so it would be a little easier in that aspect. As far as the slide goes i always get familiar/research my equipment. The 90degree viewing area .... your right but unfortunately i don't think there is a camper in my price range that would have a better viewing area. Have gotten prices with fiberglass sides and quite a few other options in the 23 to 25 range.Re: Jayco 28bhbe or 29bhdbI also am not a fan of the bhds thats a different floor plan than the 29bhdb I like the 32 bhds except we do plan on taking long trips and am concerned on it being to heavy with my gasser. I want to pull comfortably. Maybe im being to over careful but this new rig will see some mountains also it has the small shower. Thanks keep it coming the more opinions the better.Jayco 28bhbe or 29bhdbWell its time to upgrade again . I spent years on hear reading before i even signed up. I thought so many times, never going to happen to me , not doing that ..... just like everyone else i started tent camping then i bought a pop-up then 3 years ago we got a jayco Jay flight 26bh pulling it with a 2012 chevy 1500. Then I bought a 2016 2500 gasser because it just wasn't comfortable pulling on long trips . Bla bla bla Ok so anyways 26bh is a great camper but long trips or rainy weekends it just two small. Its me and my wife 2 kids 11 and 8 and one big dumb dog. We are looking at the jay flight 28bhbe and the 29 bhdb. Any and all criticism is welcomed because it usually turns out to be spot on. To much weight bad floor plans ? Are biggest wants are more storage for the kids stuff , living room slide (to cramped ) and a bigger shower would be great. thanks
