After digesting the ideas here, I think we need to widen the road in front of the barn, add some gravel and use the one ton truck to back this in. The FW has prep for a back up camera so that will help. Re: Moving a 5th wheel with a tractor The FW we are looking at is R301RKS. It's pin weight is listed at 1385 LBS. I think the tractor is up to it. I am just concerned about the roll bar on the tractor. I have a one ton diesel truck but getting the trailer parked using the tractor would be a whole lot easier. This is due to tight clearances. Moving a 5th wheel with a tractor First, thanks for reading this. I park our pull along with a Kubota L2501 tractor. The parking area is gravel. It does a great job of this but we are considering a 5th wheel. With 1900+ pounds of lift capacity the Kubota can deal with the 5th wheel pin weight of 1385 pounds. My problems are how to attach the 5th wheel to the tractor's 3 point hitch and hitting the 5th wheels cap with the tractor's roll bar. I am not comfortable with removing the roll bar. Any advice is appreciated. Re: Solar Generator Storage This is a great idea. I bet I can put some louvers on it for venting also. Thanks very much. Solar Generator Storage We have a Bluetti AC300 and B300 and would like to use it to power up our trailer. Does anyone have ideas about how to store this on or under our travel trailer. Ideally we would like it rain proof and theft proof. Any ideas would be appreciated. replacement mattressHi All, First thanks for reading this question. We have a Coachmen travel trailer. It has a queen sized bed and we need to replace the mattress. What do we need to consider when choosing the replacement? I am getting close to retirement so this mattress will get used a lot. Thanks, HankRe: 2015 26RBPR premier ultral lite F-150 towing questionsGood advice here so far. I would also look at the ratings of my truck's tires. Does the towing package include an enhanced transmission cooler? A lot also depends on where you are going to tow. If you are traveling in gently rolling country I would think you would be OK. If you are pulling or descending the Soco grade in N.C. you will need to be patient and careful. I think the F150 is an excellent truck but that is a big trailer.Re: What size Equal-i-zer hitch do I need? Thanks to all for your help with this. What size Equal-i-zer hitch do I need?My wife and I have purchased a Coachmen 231rbds. Coach lists the tongue weight 645LBS. The GVW of the trailer is 7500. We are planning on carrying a 150LBS generator and two batteries on the tongue. My question is which Equal-i-zer hitch do I need. I have been conducting an unofficial experiment on the topic of what trucks do girls like for many years in order to satisfy my personal observation. Over the years friends and colleagues in the same situation have asked me what truck would their wife warm up to. I suggest they test drive all of them and make the Chevy Silverado 1500 the second in line. Don't bias them in any manner and don't focus on the Chevy. The girls almost unanimously chose the Chevy with Dodge a close second. Girls Love Chevy Trucks! Well, down here anyway. They like the ride, the way it drives, the seats are comfy and the interior is eye candy to them. My wife is from Ft. Worth. We went from a Tacoma to a Ram 3500. We looked at all of them and she thought the Ram was the nicest one of the big three. I liked the Cummins and the 5th wheel prep group. My mechanic felt the Ram was the best for us. Now getting her to drive it with a trailer attached is something else. So maybe your statistic is really on target.
