All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Towing a Travel TrailerI have a 2011 Ram, quadcab, hemi, 3.55 gears, 20-inch wheels. I recently purchased a Keystone Passport 31RE which has about the same weights as your trailer. I purchased an Equalizer WDH and installed Airlift 1000 airbags in the coil springs. I also purchased the OEM brake controller that I installed in about 10 minutes. My first tow experience was a 5 hour drive home doing 60-70mph on the interstate. The HEMI rocks!! You did know the trailer was behind you but I think any truck would be the same way with that length. I had no problems with braking or sway from passing semis or me passing them. Without running out to my truck to look on the sticker, I remember the payload being like 1420lbs. Get a good WDH and you should have no problems.Re: Screen door modWhat works good for cutting Lexan?Re: HELP! What does this NEWB need?!If you go to the RV section in the Walmart automotive department, you will probably find most everything you need to get started. I just did.50 to 30 amp adapterIf you have a 30 amp wired trailer and can only get a 50 amp campsite, can you just use a 50 to 30 amp adapter like they sell at Walmart?Re: Lubricate slide sealsOur dealer prep guy said to just use silicone spray.Re: What do I need to add to my truck to tow my RV?Your Dodge Ram does not have leaf springs. It has coil springs and shocks. I have a 2011 Ram 1500. I installed Airlift 1000's in the coil springs and use an Equalizer weight distribution hitch to tow my travel trailer which has a dry weight of 6350 and a tongue weight of 690. The airbags keep the truck sitting level really well.
