I am using Cheney remote temp. sensors, supposed to be good ones. I also use the automotive type with a 3 or 4 inch long stainless steel pin on them. The are close in temp when I looked. One is digital and the other is analogue.Re: Norcold 1200 adjustments?I haven't called Norcold, should have thought of that one myself. DUH!! I don't remember seeing any fans installed, will get ladder & look again. Fridge is not a slide out (to my knowledge, never tried to remove it). Cooling one degree cooler on propane (after 4 hours). We have a good airflow, or at least, room for a good airflow. Yes, the unit is 11 years old (at least) How long do they last? Do you know of a GOOD refrig I could replace it with (if necessary), one that fits the opening, etc. Without major remodeling. Lack of cooling is new. I always level the coach, then check it later that day. Worst I ever saw was about 1/2 bubble out of center (front to rear if I remember correctly) Refrig part is doing fine, it is the freezer that is too warm. I am compensating right now by buying ice for it. Ice maker working, makes about 3 to 4 trays overnight, even when set on 7 or 8. We are in South Lake Tahoe and it is T-shirt weather. 61 degrees out.Norcold 1200 adjustments? Our freezer is 17-23 degrees while the lower area is around 40 egrees. 40 is good, but we would like to lower the freezer temp. We moved things away from the back wall, was unable to check the insulation on top of the unit. Any suggestions? Monaco did not give me any ideas.Re: Lost AC power to all wall plug ins last night...My apologies for not getting back sooner, been sick again. The Inverter breaker (lower one) had kicked out, I reset it and it worked a short while, then kicked out again. I figured I had a weak, or weakened breaker of some sorts and would get it fixed. But it has not popped again. Similar loads but it has held. I will get a new one anyway, just to be sure. Thanks for your suggestions, as usual, this forum solved my problem.Any special credentials/training to be an RV ElectriciansOur GFI quit working so we went to the local RV dealer (small town) and of course, he did not carry it. I thought I would try Lowes and Walmart to see if they carried that brand and they did not. Walmart DID have a GE Model GFR5263. What the heck, a GFI is a GFI...right? WRONG!! After reading the instructions twice I still don't understand what they are saying. SO!! Can most any qualified electrician (builds homes, etc.) install a GFI in an RV? I would cheerfully pay for the repair...and find out why we are suddenly popping the rocker arm switches on the control panel. We are in South Lake Tahoe.Losing Rocker Arm Switches on control panelI have a Monaco, 2002, with a control panel for electrics, etc. Also losing rocker arm switches on my control panel. 2 in the last month. Put a new one in and it popped immediately. Are these rocker arm switches that light up a fuse too> Sigma Elkhart 20A 14vdc Peak other side says 1A `4 VLED in the upper right corner 1amps `15v 12a 250v 3/4 h/p 125-250 V AC 10 14V0lts T65 Ideas on switches? tracking down voltage spikes?Re: Lost AC power to all wall plug ins last night...Pedestal? Transfer Switch? Don't recognize the terms. I have an RV sales place in Carson City, not sure how knowledgeable they are. Will ask them.Re: Lost AC power to all wall plug ins last night...It is a new GFI, never thought it might go bad, checked the inverter just now and #1 breaker was to the left and #2 to the right. I recycled them to on and off. No help. Went back to the GFI, took it apart. When recycled last night the reset button popped back out and the light next to it came on. I assumed that meant the GFI was ok. Now the light won't come on so I pulled the GFI out of the wall, using a multi tester to see if I even have electricity that far. After pulling it out of the corner the chose to hide it in, I pay just pay an electrician to do it. As I looked at it, I knew it was NOT the original Monaco GFI (OK, GFCI for the purists) I was considering cutting the wires and wiring in a normal plug, THEN have a GFI installed in a place easy to access. How hard are these things to install? I have put in dozens of house "plug ins", but not a GFI. Can we temporarily install a normal plug in, then put one of those "Plug in GFI" things you see in houses, etc. IF we had a short in the kitchen, would a "Plug in" GFI in the bathroom pop just as quick??Lost AC power to all wall plug ins last night...We lost all power to our plug ins, refrig. and electric HWH. I checked the GFI, recycled it and no help. We do have one plug in in the rear that works, it is on a separate circuit (washer dryer works wife just told me). I must have another GFI somewhere, not sure where. I checked the owner's manual, the breakers in the bedroom, I pulled the panel in the left front corner of the coach, no help there. It lists, HOUSE, ACC, CHASSIS, IGN MARKER (CHASSIS) AND CIRUIT BREAKERS......HMMMMM, it lists a refer 2-way 5 amp and a interior fuse panel 50 amps. BUT the 50 amp breaker/fuse MUST be ok because so many other items work. Refer 5 amp? I will go check it. I have not called Monaco yet, usually get better answers here unless it is a real specific Monaco item. Thanks for any ideas....DaveRe: First Time Buyer...Updated 03/06/2006I have a hot one. I have asthma. We bought a used 2002 Monaco Diplomat from DeMartini's in Grass Valley, Ca. Let me say up front, I think they are best RV dealership in the world. Let me continue with our problem. IF YOU HAVE ANY BREATHING PROBLEMS, MAKE SURE THE PREVIOUS OWNER OF THE USED COACH WAS NOT A SMOKER. My wife and I test drove the coach and she complained of a cigarette smell. I did not smell it and told her it was probably the chemicals they used to clean it. Timmy DeMartini was with us (Tim's son) and he said he did not know. Making a long story short, I am "new" to asthma, just having been diagnosed about 6 months ago. Things in the air, cigarette smoke, whatever...I don't always recognize what it is that makes it so hard to breathe. My mistake. I LOOKED AT THE AD, IT DOES NOT SAY "NON SMOKER". THAT IS YOUR CLUE TO AVOIDING THE SITUATION WE ARE IN. Not only do you need to pay attention to what the unit has, but look for what it doesn't say. I did not pay attention to that part and the dealership put plastic over the carpets to protect them. DeMartini was not hiding anything from the public, they are better than that...and they will work with me if I can't use the coach. My wife has cleaned it 3 times now, with the 6 brush carpet cleaner thing. It is supposed to clean everything out of your carpet, especially allergens. We hope we can get all the smell, etc. out. Something I learned buying large boats...take the ad with you and look at every single thing advertised on the unit. Make sure it works. Buy from a good dealer. We had a dealer in Sacramento in the late 80s or early 90s who was convicted of fraud, etc. He went to jail for a year or two and is now in business again, under a different name. I want to emphasize again that DeMartini's are the best dealership I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. They have offered to work with us on resolving the problem. Even if we have to sell this coach and get another one, they will try to "make it right". Take care and read the ads carefully.......Dave
