We need help in planning a route using I 81 around the major cities. I' m needing help in trying to avoid the toll roads.......any suggestions will be appreciated. We are planning to make this a three month trip by following the colors south to NC. We are driving a 34 foot motor home pulling a CRV.Re: Anyone make a mistake buying first MH ?Yep. We had a truck and fifth wheel all paid for, but the DW wanted a motorhome....so we have a 34 foot Tiffin and a motorhome payment. We have had the Tiffin for 3 years and the damn thing still leaks. Been to Red Bay 4 times and the dealer a dozen times. Each time they find something else is leaking.......should have kept the truck and the fifth wheel....Re: Love bugs or notEasy solution to clean love bugs from your vehicle. Wet the area on your car and then use a dryer sheet to clean the love bug mess off. Afterwards wash the car with your regular car wash to remove any film left from the dryer sheet. Been using this trick for years. When it's love bug season I clean my cars, Motorhome and motorcycle using the dryer sheets.Re: Mount Rushmore, Badlands, Black Hills, finally! My wife and I made a seven week trip to most of the same places this past summer. Loved the Black Hills most of all. Don't forget Cheif Crazy Horse. The night shows at Rushmore and Crazy Horse are a must. I did not see Devil's Tower on your list, however it will be well worth the trip. We pulled our Harley in a trailer and rode most of the roads in the area.....one of the best adventures of our lives. Good luck and enjoy.....we stayed at the French Creek Campground while in Custer. The campground owners are Rock and Diane. They are a fun couple and really made us feel like family.Re: snow eventOne other thought. Depending on if you are on level ground and if the ground the ground freezes, you may want to raise your jacks. A few weeks ago we were in North Alabama and the temps dropped into the single digits with a wet ground........some folks left their jacks down and they had a hard time getting them up. One person tore his jacks off t rying to raise them.Re: Leak in the roofFixing the leak is one thing, but there could be other damage. We have a 2011 Tiffin 34 TGA that started to leak the first time it rained. I took it back to the dealer who checked everything on the roof and fixed the leaks. I ask the dealer if they needed to check the inside to see if there was any damage. They said, since the coach was so new, that it was probably okay. Now several months later I have rotten wood in the front of the coach and will have to take it to Red Bay to be fixed. Always fix the leak, but always look for water damage that you may not see. BTW 2X for eterna bond......great stuff..Re: Honda generators vs on board Onan gas generator.Hey everyone....thanks for all of the responses to my original post. There are a lot of good suggestions......now the verdict. The two Honda generators will stay home and the on board Onan generator will do what it is intended to do.....run the stuff on the motorhome. See all of you down the road......Re: Honda generators vs on board Onan gas generator. Thanks for the replys.....the generator on my coach is an Onan 5500. I used the two EU2000 with my fifth wheel and already have BIG chains and a huge lock. I agree that hauling the extra generators with extra fuel will take up much needed space.....Honda generators vs on board Onan gas generator. We just bought a (new to us) Tiffin 34TGA motorhome to replace our 5th wheel. We are planning to take about two weeks to travel from Northwest Florida to Martinsville VA for a NASCAR race.....now comes the question. While boon docking, at the race track, will using my two Eu2000 honda generators linked together be more fuel efficient than running my on board generator? My DW says leave the Hondas at home, but I am just wondering...........
