Ok Mex I have the digital panel meter & shunt. Need some help. Don't know much electronics, learning more every day. Which wire electrical connectivity pins should I order? To connect the wires to the 41/2 digital meter. Local Radio Shack is of no help. I see that they are made of different alloys. Preferred alloy? Thanks for sharing this calibration tool idea. Powertron-mrvac27m,600cca,160RC (?)12V wet cell battery. Two yr. old,little used,much abused (5 month storage x2) not 100%charged. Can't increase Sp. Gr.above 1.265. Multiple unsuccessful attempts at 15V up to 16.2volts. Need a better strategy. Resting Voltage 12.65 is this the best I can expect? This beyond my knowledge. Help is much appreciated. The three Amigos, Mex,Niner and Landy suggest each battery has a unique voltage at 100%full. Unless one knows the 100%full voltage, a voltage measurement by itself may not be indicative of a full battery. Soooo... A sealed battery is 100% charged when the battery accepts only... A. C2 or less at a charging voltage of ? Fill in the blank.......14.4,14,6 ? And/ or B. C2 or less @ a charging voltage of ? Fill in the blank....14.4 etc.? AND if continueing to charge at that voltage the amps decrease and the voltage increases. (Now at gassing stage)Ie, one continues to charge AFTER the amp uptake is C2 or less. C. A sealed battery is full when it will not accept a current greater than ? C2 or less at bulk charging rate. Clarifications, corrections an comments are greatly appreciated. If I have a fatal misunderstanding please get me on the right path. I enjoy mining the archives for battery related threads. I read an retread many of my favorites. Mex this is terrific news. Wow. Look forward to learning more particulars. This is exciting. Are the Mega stacked? Can't believe it, a truly serious battery charger for us common folks. A charger that we can make and have the resources for. I have started to modify a Meanwell, following the foot steps of Landyacht & Niner. I stand on the shoulders of you Giants who have so unselfishly and freely share your knowledge & experience with those of us just trying to learn how to properly care for our batteries. Mex you have over 10,000 posts on this forum alone. Thank you. I have learned so much from "screwey 31", Landys experiments and Niners carefully stated insights.
