HUH???????? Inverter generators are the only rational purchase for camping if your main purpose for having a generator is charging batteries with occasional microwave usage, or similar higher current appliances. Why? The inverter generator has an Eco mode that only runs the engine as fast as is necessary for current demand, while still putting out clean sine wave current. This results in a significant savings in fuel as well as a serious reduction in noise. The NON inverter generators have to run constantly at high speed to produce 60 cycle line voltage. Noisy and gas guzzleing. My Honda gets almost 10 hours on 1 gal of gas. What are the Champions specs?? Not so Green....Re: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator ThreadJC, With all due respect, the Champions that you list at really low prices are NOT Inverter generators. There is a major difference. Perhaps that is why the Champion 2000 W Inverter generator is not really much cheaper than the Honda EU2000I ?? Personally I have owned many generators over the years of various types and power levels. I would not trade my Little Honda EU2000I for five Champions. (or any other Non-inverter generator) For me fuel cost alone pays the difference in a couple of years of use. Not to mention the great difference in "Annoying Clatter"Re: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator ThreadThe Honda EU2000I is readily available for $850 with no sales tax and free shipping.. Unless the Champion is available for less than $500 out the door, I would still go with the Honda. Which brings home the point.. The reason an Inverter generator costs more is because of the fact that it is an generator with an internal INVERTER..Simply costs more to build. But, if the new competition brings down the price of the Honda and Yamaha units, so much the better..Re: Dexter HD Suspension & EZ-Flex Install (long w/ pictures) coolbreeze01 wrote: Very nice. Does this come stock on any TT's? Yes, Komfort is putting it on their trailers starting with the 2008 year models.Re: Dexter HD Suspension & EZ-Flex Install (long w/ pictures)Les, Where did you purchase this kit and what was the price?Re: Dexter HD Suspension & EZ-Flex Install (long w/ pictures)Nice! I am thinking of adding them to my TT also..I already have shocks but the combination of shocks and these would be the ultimate.. BTW, have you thought about adding shocks also? Each component serves a different purpose, but either is a plus and both is even better..Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. toprudder wrote: sjhanksaz wrote: I camp in the high mountains of Arizona and am looking for a generator that will run well at upwards of 9400 feet in elevation. I am looking into the Honda EB3000. I want a generator that will compensate for the altitude. One that will not need its jets exchanged for when I am in the valley of the sun or high in the pines. Any thoughts on the Honda or another perhaps cheaper solution? I just returned a Kipor because it would need its jets changed out to work properly. I doubt you will find anything that will compensate for altitude (automatically lean the mixture). You might find something that has adjustable mixture. Also, any IC engine will lose power as you go up in altitude. I forget the exact formula, but at 9400 feet I would guestimate that you will only get about 65% of the sea-level power. If you figure you need a full 3000w at 9400 feet, you might have to buy a 4500w generator to get it. These generators are among the last gasoline engines to use a carburetor. It is only a matter of time before fuel injection becomes standard equipment. The result will be better fuel economy and superior performance at any altitude, as fuel injection automatically compensates for altitude variation. Prices will increase somewhat.Re: You MIGHT be an RV'r if . . .If You just finished reading all 27 pages of this thread and wish there were more!Re: What's behind the name? Screen name that is.Dixon is my name, Tools are my game! (current DM) Actually the "Dixon" part is a stage name I came up with over 30 years ago when I was a traveling musician playing in a band. Richard is my real name. (I was never a "Rick" and I sure didn't want to be a "Dick")
