I want my money, the pittance that it is; enough is enough this judge is the problem now and she needs to hear from you! This is a game, the longer this drags out, the more claimants will drop out due to attrition and the less Thetford has to pay out. Is Judge Staton corrupt, who knows, but she is certainly part of the problem. Contact Judge Staton let her know your outrage. Judge Josephine Staton jls_chambers@cacd.uscourts.gov https://www.cacd.uscourts.gov/honorable-josephine-l-staton?page=1 (my rant) I am a "member" of four class actions right now; this, AIG (pennies on the dollar) and two for my pile of junk Whirlpool Duet. I framed the AIG check on my office wall, it makes my blood boil every time I look at it. These federal courts, specifically Judge Staton in California and Judge Boyko in Ohio are perpetuating these class-action scams. Speak out, let your voice be heard. This is still democracy right?Re: Good Sam "RV Storage Option"The lender makes sense, but affidavit of non-use, that is a bit onerous. the sales guy made it sound like just call and turn it on & off whenever you want... devil is in the details. thanks for the feedback.Good Sam "RV Storage Option"If you are insured through GMAC/Good Sam and have utilized their "RV Storage Option" I'd like to hear about experience. Specifically, did you estimate in advance or do they issue a rebate at the end of the term? Also, is it a hassle to call? Do they send you a confirmation email when you turn on/off your collision coverage? Lastly, are they available 24/7 to call in? Thanks much! ~DavidADCO CoversI have had absolutely no luck with ADCO RV Covers lasting longer then a couple of years. My newest ADCO cover, made with Tyvek (which is good stuff) is disintegrating at the seams. It is not Dupont/Tyvek its the way ADCO assembles the cover. I spoke with Victoria at ADCO and they refuse to stand behind their product and accept the fact the thread they used cannot handle the elements, this thread rots and the cover falls apart. Here is my blog post, complete with pictures, please read it for more info. http://davedold.blogspot.com/ Thanks.Modifying "cool only" Coleman Plenum 8330B751This topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 28060415Modifying "cool only" Coleman Plenum 8330B751I am trying to add heat strips to my a/c units. I had the heat strips on order and decided to confirm with RVComfort I had the correct set-up; yes and no. As it turns out, I do not have the correct plenum controller mine are for "cool-only" and I need to replace them with essentially the same exact thing 8330C5091. If I understand correctly, these are the same controllers, except they did not put in the relay for the heat strip off the controller board. This new controller is 150-180usd. Has anyone modified their "cool-only" to add the missing relay, save the upto two-hundred bucks per controller? Thanks, ~DavidProgressive InsuranceThis post is about my claim experience with Progressive. I damaged two of my basement doors on my motorhome, nothing structural, a cosmetic repair, should be a turn and burn repair; yeah right. As it turns out these doors are aluminum and aluminum is near impossible to repair; who knew, I thought they were sheet metal... When I called to make the claim, an adjuster called back and said they were too busy to schedule an appointment. Seriously? I live in San Diego, they cannot cover Southern California to get an adjuster out in a day or two... Ten days and they finally sent someone out, nice enough guy, but he knowingly shorted the estimate by over 25%, underestimating the cost of the doors by nearly 65%. Even after he explained why the doors had to be replaced he estimated replacement of 400 per door, knowing Fleetwood charged 1100 per door, how do I know he knew; he told me himself what they cost for various manufacturers, why didnt he call FW himself and get an exact price? There are three shops in San Diego equipped to handle rv body repairs; of the two I called they both were reluctant to work on a claim from Progressive. The shops told me Progressive is known for intentionally shorting estimates and they dont want to waste their time going back and forth with Progressive for more money trying to get ahold of their adjusters. Progressive does not have enough adjusters for my area, it took me three days to get a call back from my adjuster just for him to tell me there is nothing he can do. So in my case the shop tried to patch the doors without discussing it with me, the adjuster was correct they cannot be repaired, the patch is easily spotted. Progressive's position; you picked the shop we cant do anything; but it was their intentionally low balling the estimate by 25% that created this problem. My motorhome has now sat for six weeks and Progressive is laughing all the way to the bank. Brilliant business strategy. THANKS FLO! (Have fun all you Progressive cyber-shrills)San Diego Passes RV Parking BanOn July 8, 2013 the San Diego City Counsel passed a sweeping ban on RV parking within the City of San Diego. This ban effects motorhomes, trailers, ATV trailers, boats, and any other "oversized" vehicle. The city backed off on this in 2008 when the new ordinance was not paid for, now through "funny numbers" based revenue from tickets annually the counsel passed the new ordinance. Parking is banned from 2a-6a or at anytime within 50' of an intersection. Residents can obtain a one night permit for a fee to park on their block. Through sales tax and plates I have paid roughly $15,000 to the state and city, now to be discriminated against. They are perfectly willing to take my money, then ban from parking. With this ban, because I am two houses in from the corner, I can never park in front of my home again. If you have not heard about this, no surprise, this was done without a call for public debate. Todd Gloria, my city councilmen, should be ashamed of himself. If you live in San Diego, this will effect you, let your elected representative know.Re: Progressive RV Insurance ScamLet me add one more item to "chew" on here. Progressive is running an ad with Flo and a dog, where she voiceovers something about; ..not just covering you, but your best friend too. Well, maybe if your vet is in Mexico. The 500 limit applies to their pet coverage too(400 actually 100 deductible). So then you have to ask yourself, is it worth filing a 400 claim (500 less 100 deductible) and losing your claim free status? One could argue this "insurance" is actually a profit center for them through increased premiums because the claim free discount is lost. Progressive is all about marketing, making you feel all warm and fuzzy, building a trust relationship with a fictional character, then taking it all back in the fine print.Re: Progressive RV Insurance ScamThere is a limit on the policy declaration page; 5k. I find that to mean Progressive will pay to replace items up to the policy limits. Did I think they would pay all 5k toward the Rolex on my wrist, no that is scheduled on my homeowners because it is of high value and an unusual item. However, the 500 limit is applied to each and every item on this policy. This cap is not explicitly disclosed on the declaration page and that is the part I find most offensive and a scam. This "Replacement Cost Personal Items" coverage is useless and "Flo's" right to their bottom line. When I was in b-school (a term I imagine means noting to the demo on this forum), top 10 by the way, we did several cases on this company. Progressive is a marketing company selling insurance. Should I feel cheated, I can always have my day in court, like our founding fathers intended. Wrong again, that right is gone too, we consumers have no access to the court system anymore. This, like most every contract you sign these days, from the phone in your hand, to the car you buy, your bank, gym, carpet cleaner, to sweet Flo from Progressive, who would never cheat anyone, all have "binding arbitration" where the proceedings are closed door and the odds are stacked against the consumer. (The arbitrator wants repeat business right?) Bottom line here, this is not the coverage they sold me, Progressive did disclose it to me deep in 50 pages of fine print. I feel cheated and I haven't even suffered a loss. At least I know now, should I suffer a loss, I am not Pollyanish enough to believe that my Honda Generator, or iPad, or that suit in the closet, is actually going to be replaced by Progressive with new like my declaration page states; won't happen, not with this policy anyway. This begs more questions; is the TV that is permanently installed in the rig a personal item? My attorney is 500/hour, I imagine it would take him two hours to read the disclosures, cross reference and answer my question. Be aware and informed.
