It has covered repairs to stop our fresh water tank from dumping its water, replaced two hydraulic lifts, a hot water heater check valve and repair of power steps, but will not replace the slowly leaking air mattress in our fold-out sofabed which is expensive. Reading the fine print, "furniture" is excluded from warranty coverage.Re: Top RV parksMy favorite campsites are at Ocracoke Island National Seashore, which are just a sand dune away from the most pristine, uncrowded beaches anywhere on the US eastern seaboard. Separate areas are designated for tent campers, trailers and motorhomes. There are paved pads for RVs but no shade and no hookups. The campground has grills, tables, modern restrooms, unheated showers and potable water. Across the main road from the campground there is a free dump station and a connection to fill water tanks. Campers with a National Park Senior Pass pay half the regular $23/night camping fee. Camping there in September we found great swimming weather and warm water but the crowds and mosquitoes were gone.Re: chemical cleanersWhen I took delivery of my new motorhome in May of 2012 it sparkled, but after I had driven it thousands of miles and camped through all kinds of weather my RV had acquired a heavy coating of grime. While staying in a Florida campground in late December, I had a level paved area, good weather, a plentiful water supply and some spare time to give my coach a good washing. My CW dealer in Lakewood, NJ had given me a five-gallon plastic bucket containing some new-customer gift items, including a quart bottle of Camco Wash & Wax. It was time for me to put it to good use. Following the instructions, it takes only a small amount of this concentrate mixed with water to produce a large amount of cleaning solution. I had a soft, long-hollow-handled brush with a hose connection that would allow me to reach to the twelve-foot-high roof of my coach while standing on the pavement. I dipped the brush into the bucket where I had mixed the cleaning solution, then brushed it onto my coach, washing about a four-foot-wide space at a time. Once I had completely washed a section of the coach with the cleaning solution, I would turn on the water and use the same brush to thoroughly rinse the area I had just washed. It was amazing to see how easily and quickly the road grime washed off. I repeated that process until I had gone all around the perimeter of my 35-foot-long coach. Because of the size of the vehicle, it took me some time, but the results were rewarding. My coach sparkled just like new, repels dirt and I had only used about a half-quart of the Wash and Wax concentrate to do the job. My results were, in my opinion, a good test of the cleaning, waxing capabilities of this product. My motorhome has a fiberglass outer body with a Clear Coat finish, but I see no reason why this cleaning solution wouldn't work just as well to remove road grime from any car or truck. I might add that the cleaning solution also worked well on the windows and windshield of my coach, leaving them sparkling clean as well. I later bought a gallon jug of it, which should last me a very long time.Re: Broadcast From Win7 Laptop To TVHDMI is best for sending video and audio from your laptop computer to your TV as other contributors have noted. My Windows 7 Home Premium notebook computer immediately adjusts its video whenever I connect it to an active HDMI jack on my HD-TV. If you want to record audio from your TV, and it has audio output jacks as most TV sets do, you can get a cable with two RCA audio plugs on one end and a 1/8" stereo plug on the other end. Connect that cable between the audio output jacks on the TV and the audio INPUT jack on your laptop. If your version of Windows has the software to record audio, then you're already in business. Otherwise you can find free audio recording software downloads by doing a Google search.Re: Case illustrates Canada's zero-tolerance gun policyTaking a weapon across the Canadian border is not the only hazard for a camper or traveler. Some states, such as New Jersey, do not issue carry permits to non-law-enforcement individuals. There are strict limitations regarding how a gun can be transported, the size of ammo clips and kinds of ammunition that can be possessed within the state. Handguns in vehicles, for example, must be unloaded, locked in a gun safe and inaccessible to the driver. Having a handgun in a center console of the passenger compartment or having ammo clips that will hold more than ten rounds can get someone in big trouble.Re: newbie questions harley-dave wrote: highwaymenace wrote: "Another question: How does the television work? Do you usually have a satellite dish? What about internet connections? What do you do about that?" Regarding your question about TV, I have a Winegard RT8000T RoadTrip MiniMax White 15" In-Motion Satellite TV Antenna on the roof of my coach, but it won't receive a signal when we're parked in the shade. If you prefer shade when you park your RV a portable antenna that you can position out from under trees would be a better choice. It costs less but takes longer to set up. We also have an amplified crank-up digital TV antenna that works well for local stations when they're available. DISH-TV allows you to subscribe only when you need the service and suspend it when you don't. For our Internet access, my wife and I both use Verizon Android smartphones, which are equipped with an app called Easytether (available from Amazon). We can use our monthly data allowance on our phones by tethering our phones to the USB port on our laptop computers, rather than having to set up another account at extra cost to use our phones as Wi-Fi hotspots. If we're staying at a campground with decent Wi-Fi included in our nightly rate, we'll use that.
