It doesn't take too much bad fuel to overheat the electronics on a VP44 so I was informed by some rebuild specialist. Maintaining quality fuel during storage is the key element to prevent problems as is the proper lift pressure. There are several threads on rv.net to get info concerning fuel quality.Re: Remote gennie switch failureYou nailed it zig. Corrosion on connecter at back side. There was not enough to hardly see but it was enough to interrupt the connection. ThanksRemote gennie switch failureI have a Generac NPG 66 generator. The remote switch will do a start up but fails to shut down generator. The switch located on the gennie performs normally (on/off), it produces power with no issues. Tests shows remote switch to be good. It is a rocker style with on/ neutral/off with a run indicator light located next to it and a lead to the hour meter. Leads to it indicate continuity as far as I can check. This is beyond my skill set. Any suggestions or similar experience would be appreciated.Re: Foggy WindowsYour options include RV Fog Dr, Searcy Ak. 501-278-3015. Going down to have two repaired. They did one two years ago that looks new yet. I took that one out and delivered it. They are doing it all this time. Nice people and they have power on their lot if you arrive late.Re: 260 hp?The 5.9 while not a power house is ok but the limiting factor is which transmission you are getting. 2500 is good but cannot handle more torque/power. Six speed will keep engine in better power range on grades. Another concern is the VP44 fuel injection pump. Cummins had a lot of bad pumps and the electronics are prone to failure from over heating.Re: Indiana I-69 SouthUpdate- The new I-69 was open yesterday. 70 speed limit but a long stretch near Bloomington at 55. Surprised to see that many of the bridge joints have been milled down and are better, not great. Just better. Cut my drive time to Indy 25 minutes. Never thought I would see this done.Indiana I-69 SouthI-69 south from Martinsville set to open Nov.5th. Finally will have all lanes open with normal speeds except some 55 mph restrictions in/near Bloomington and 60 mph around Evansville. You can travel non-stop for nearly 150 miles until Henderson Ky. There are no rest stops and services are somewhat limited in Indiana. There is a new fuel stop just off 231/I-69 and new Love's prior to Madisonville Ky. Still have all the stop and go on Hwy 37 from Indy to Martinsville. Gives another choice to avoid I-65 and Louisville. I-69 road surface is good, traffic is light but the bridge joints are terrible. Not recommending this route, just informing.Re: Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National ParkBeen wondering about the road there. Leaving tri-cities Tuesday going to Lewiston for a couple of days. Been trying to decide where to next and Glacier is always on our minds. Never get enough of it.Re: Running lightsNRV had two fuses for marker / clearance lights separating front and back on early models. Mine are on a panel below the drivers seat on the outside. Had issue twice in 16 years one being last month but was the rear lights. All fronts on different fuse.Re: West travelWe just did 36,80,84 and short distance on 82 to Eastern Washington. Gas/ fuel gets more expensive as you go west. We will stay at son’s ranch for a couple of weeks then meander around to see places we may have by passed on earlier trips. Wanted to do Utah but temps may make us stay up country. You have the right attitude so just go and see. Too many scheduled days just stress you out. RVing should be fun and not stressful. Just go and look at what you see.
