Found out the problem was the check valve inside the housing that was allowing the system to lose prime. That part is not available from GM or the aftermarket. 1st housing lasted 267,000 miles. Maybe this will also.Re: Transfer case problemsI had a truck come in to our shop a few years ago with a bearing type whine that sounded like it was coming from the transfer case or rear diff. After checking both of them and finding nothing wrong we decided to check the fluid in the front diff. The fluid was full of metal. The inner pinion bearing was bad. Only explanation I could think of was the noise was traveling down the driveshaft. Not saying this is your problem but it might be worth looking at.Fuel Filter housing on LB7 DuramaxI had to replace the fuel filter housing on my truck last week. The one that GM says fits from 01-03 costs over $500. The one for trucks from 04-12 is just over $100. I decided to see if the later model housing would work. The only difference in them is how the metal pipes are pointing. I had to change the 2 fuel lines because the old ones were too short. Total amount spent was just under $135.Re: Dish TailgaterThanks for the responses and for the link. For whatever reason I could not find it. All I found was the later model tailgater manual.Dish TailgaterI recently purchased a Tailgater from a friend. Did not get the owners manual with it. Does anyone know what the maximum length of coax that can be used? Thanks in advance.Re: The Story That Won't Go AwayI will stick with the 12 year old GMC. I have a friend with a '13 Dodge. It is a nice truck but I like the fuel mileage I get much better. And as far as "having no clue" I am pretty sure I can hold my own when talking about vehicles and what breaks on almost any given make or model.Re: The Story That Won't Go AwayA Wrangler with a small block Chevy v-8 from the factory would be awesome. Ram trucks only have 1 thing that is good, the Cummins. There is only 1 thing wrong with the Cummins, it has a Ram wrapped around it!Re: Good experience with an RV repairmanBought as is so no he is stuck.Good experience with an RV repairmanRecently a friend of mine got what he thought was a good deal in a used trailer. He is a newbie so he didn't have any idea what to look for. Well, he was bold faced lied to. The camper has extensive damage because of a roof leak. I took his trailer to a repair man today. The guy told him it was a shame that the damage was allowed to happen to such a nice camper. He told my buddy that the best thing he could do was to sell it because after the repairs he was going to be completely upside down. He said "yeah I can fix it and take your money but I don't want you to have 10K in a 7K trailer". It is nice to see that there are honest people left in the world. For any newbie out there that reads this take someone with you that knows what to look for if you are looking to buy a used trailer.Re: Is the Aisin transmission worth it?I have no real knowledge of the later model heavy transmissions from Aisin but the ones that were used by Jeep in the 80's and 90's were the most bulletproof transmission I have ever seen.
